My 1 star has to do with what I witnessed when checking out today! I was at register 1, and at register 2 was a sweet older lady I’d say for sure in her 80’s, I talked to her in one of the aisles when she fussed over my puppy, she was EXTREMELY hard of hearing. The cash register attendant pressured this little lady into opening a charge card. She kept saying, I can’t hear you, I can’t hear you”. She even apologized for being unable to hear her. The home goods employee was relentless until the lady gave her info from her purse. Bullied her, definitely taking advantage of her age. The little lady KEPT saying I don’t understand but if you want me to …. The cash register employee said you will save money… what??? You will save money…. Can you talk louder… OMG then she signed the brochure I call this ELDER ABUSE! I asked to talk to the store manager , she was too busy and sent some one else, her tag, said manager too and I believe her name was Kimberly. I explained the entire incident… this poor lady was still at the register, over 15 minutes! It was clear this poor lady had no idea what just happened! The person I talked to ( manager Kimberly) observed the interaction at register 2, for a couple minutes and then went behind the counter, register 2 and very briefly talked to the employee and customer…. Still this poor soul had no idea. This manager told me she wanted to open a credit card because hers expired??? No way ! That is so not true. She was coerced! I heard what went on. She was taken advantage of! This little old lady was still there at the register when left. Now about 20-25 minutes. I know your employees get a bonus for every credit card they open but seriously this was wrong. I plan on seeing what can be done to protect the elderly from being forced to sign up for a credit card in your store. Absolutely ELDER ABUSE! Home Goods should be ashamed...
Read moreOne of the larger and the most disliked Marshall's that I have been to; so close to home too. All that extra space is not being utilized wisely. Overabundence of handbags, womens coats, & clothes. Nice selection on mens. Very limited in boys clothing, No gourmet snacks/foods for gifting. Limited supply in cruelty-free personal care. Over abundence of retinol, vitamin c's for facial care (can cause skin irritation for some). Drugstore brands not cruelty free and pricier. I always had a problem overspending at Marshall stores such as the one in Trooper, Pa (a fraction of this size). Here, I really don't like anything that they have. Don't waste your time if you want to: 1) shop for your family or 2) one stop gifting.
Based the reviews that I am reading, I am thinking that the patrons have never shopped at a different Marshall's & to no fault of their own don't...
Read moreThe manager is very rude! I believe the name is PAJ. I went to checkout a set of clothing which was attached (top and bottom set) I tried on the items and waited in line to pay but he realized the set was different size and implied that I did that myself. He also did not greet me when reaching the register. He then proceed to leave me at the register for 10 minutes alone and did whatever he needed to do in the back and came back refusing to let me purchase the item I found on THEIR floor for the price sticker it had on it . After he left me there for a while I made a comment about leaving me there for so long and he said “it is what it is” as a manger… super unprofessional and never apologized once. I would have been super understanding otherwise but his tone was unpleasant. I left the set there and left. Retail is hard but no need to take it out...
