Marshalls has long been one of my favorite places to shop, but after my experience at this location today I’m genuinely heartbroken to say I won’t be returning.
I came into the store to complete an exchange. When I approached the register, I was greeted—or rather, not greeted—by a cashier named Ronnie. She did not acknowledge me, make eye contact, or return my polite “hello.” I let it go at first, assuming she may have been busy or having a long day. However, the encounter quickly escalated when I asked a clarifying question about the pricing on the items involved in the exchange.
Rather than offering assistance or explanation, Ronnie abruptly responded, “The computer doesn’t lie,” in a tone that was both dismissive and unnecessarily sharp. Given the size of my transaction, I attempted to calmly ask for more information. However, Ronnie continued to speak to me in a condescending manner, which only heightened the discomfort of the exchange.
At that point, another cashier named Wendy, who had overheard the conversation, asked if everything was okay. I shared that I was feeling uncomfortable and condescended to. Instead of listening or offering support, Wendy abruptly jumped to Ronnie’s defense and began speaking to me in the same disrespectful tone. It was two employees doubling down on unkindness in a public space—without a manager in sight.
What should have been a straightforward transaction turned into a distressing and frankly humiliating ordeal. I left the store feeling shaken and disrespected, not only by the unprofessionalism of the staff, but also by the apparent lack of basic customer...
Read moreI am sad to write this review. I love this Marshall's store for their selection and cleanliness, but today I had a terrible experience by a manager. I wanted to return a coat I purchased 3 days ago. I did not like the style. I had the reciept and the tag for the price. However, the tag was the wrong tag. Well, it is what came with my coat. The manager was being very rude and mean to the employees before coming to me and basically berating me for wanting to return the coat telling me I should not have taken the tag off and how I used the coat because I had coins in the pocket. I wore the coat twice and I was hesitant on the style so I returned it. I am allowed to return it. It was in great condition no issues.
The manager was very rude telling me about the coins in my pocket what is this? Is this my tip? She was not even joking. She was completely unkind and unfriendly to me making me feel like I did something wrong, which I did not. I had reciept and had 30 days to return the coat and that is what I did.
I will not shop at this Marshall's again. I refuse to because of this lady's behavior. She was a manager with glasses and of russian descent I believe which doesnt matter, but that is how I can describe her. She should be kinder to the customers and employees. She did not even apologize to me for her behavior. She put me in a bad mood because of her actions and made me feel completely uncomfortable really disappointed and will...
Read moreI used to shop at this store 2-3 times a month but not anymore. I was actually going to the staples location next door when I noticed someone left a dog in their car with the windows up in the direct sun. Now I just ran in and out of staples and my white car was hot inside, I couldn't imagine how hot it was inside a dark colored car in the sun. So I took down the description of the car and the plate, went into this Marshalls location and asked the store manager "Al" to make an announcement. His response is what is responsible for this bad review. He told me "it's not the stores responsibility to monitor the parking lot." I said I understand but could you just make an announcement? He said "not my fault if the dog dies." Like really?!?! I have never been more disappointed and angry with someone. I'm not just saying that because I'm a dog lover and have two myself, but how could someone just be so careless of a helpless animal suffering in the heat! Trust me I will be call corporate on him. Thankfully, as I returned to my car to call the police about the dog, the owner was also returning, mind you with a cart full of shopping bags filled...
