So, I just want to start off by saying I have actually NEVER left a comment in a restaurant in my 26 years of living. But I just felt I had too, and I find it funny that there’s other comments on this waiter as well. Me and my boyfriend went last night around 6:30-7pm, decent amount of people but I wouldn’t say “busy”. We were sat, and sat around for about 15-20, okay fine. Our waiter comes over, seems annoyed (I’ve been seeing him just stand around so I’m not sure why he didn’t offer drinks). So we order drinks, we wants queso but he just walks away. He brings the drinks, drops them and goes. Doesn’t give us a chance to ask for queso , he’s paying more attention to the ONLY other table he has. I said to my boyfriend doesn’t it seem like he’s avoiding us?? He agreed. Finally. Another 20 min. He takes our order. We order queso, I got carne asada and he got arroz con pollo. He’s literally just walking around, bored. Our food come out (from someone else dropping off).. we didn’t ever get the queso, so I literally cut in my steak and it’s been sitting there. You can tell because the fat of the plate was thickening and the steak was cold, I was like eating cold fat. So listen, I didn’t want to be a “karen” maybe he was just having a bad night. I honestly feel because we were younger and in “comfy” (leggings, and tshirt and jeans”) that maybe he felt we wouldn’t tip well so might as well not pay attention, when in fact we tip VERY well because we under stand the struggle. I see this other guy who looks like a manager, I don’t know his name but I wish I could shout him out. I spoke to him and told him hey we never got our queso, our waiter never comes by, he avoids us, and this steak is just gross. So he took both off of check, he was so helpful. Our waiter came back apologizing, but then continued to be distant after. My boyfriend just paid for his food, it was like $20, we STILL left the waiter a $5 (more the 20%) he should have got nothing. We also tipped the other guy $5 cause even tho he wasn’t a waiter or manager, he helped me much more. I wish I could say I loved the food, or whatever. My friends love this place so figured I’d give it a try. I’m not sure why this waiter still works here if he has a few comments on him. I won’t call him out, but I really hope he learns and starts...
Read moreI went to this location last night and from the start we weren’t greeted. Someone finally came and sat us that was another server. As we sat we waited longer than 20 minutes to be greeted by our server and to get drinks. I accidentally asked the lady who brought the salsa and chips out for drinks and an appetizer and she just ignored me and walked away. Mind you- probably because she wasn’t my server but at this point no one said anything to greet us or let us know one was coming. why would you give me chips and salsa but no drinks. For our service we had to wait an extended amount of time for our waiter to come once we got him - to put in our food order.
As we are sitting other tables next to us are being waited on attentively. Some came in 30 mins after us and had their order taken. We were sitting waiting with NO SIGN of our waiter. The other waiters and staff saw us trying to wave someone down and they all ignored or tried to do the look as if they didn’t see us. Our server would then come up- we’ve only seen him once at this point and he was short and rude to use while talking as if we were wasting his time but we saw he had no other tables. We received our food with new people that came in. As our server never came out from the back. I never got my drinks refilled - my husband had to switch drinks with me then finally 25 minutes later he comes to check on (this is the 2nd appearance) and my husband tells him we need refills- and a box. My husband didn’t even want to take his food home but i did. The man came then chose the tip himself on the handhelds. while we are checking the receipt he put over 20percent on the bill when that was our third time seeing him and he didn’t give good service. Then i heard him and the others talking crap in the back and he came with a confrontational tone saying “is that not right or something?”. - I had the receipt in my hand so i guess that’s what he was talking about but he wasn’t that fast for my order or foods or to check on us. We watched everyone else get great service as we were forgotten. We’ve been before and never had this experience and we’ve never had a server pick his own tip when there’s a party of two. They need to...
Read moreUPDATE This place has been consistent for us. We like to grab a seat in the bar. Tables are all high-top (I think?), so for some folks that may not be preferred, but the volume-level is good and they have multiple TVs around if you're into that.
Service is prompt and efficient as they quickly brought us chips and salsa, which both passed our taste test. Prices are a bit higher than the typical Mexican joint, but we like to split the fajitas [chicken - $18] as they are truly enough for the both of us. Glad they are still doing well as a business and more than satisfied to keep this place in our local rotation. My wife and I came in for a quick dinner date to try to the place out. We sat in the bar area which has primarily high top tables and chairs as you would commonly find these days, although I did struggle to get into my seat and actually pull it up to the table with the way it was designed. About as soon as we sat, a gentleman brought us some chips and salsa, which we very much enjoyed. The salsa had a bit of a kick to it, which we liked.
The service from our waiter wasn't the most prompt, although I don't think that was necessarily a widespread issue as we noticed other neighboring tables seemed to receive more frequent attention from their servers. Our order of shrimp fajitas ($17) did come out quickly and we were impressed with the size and quantity of shrimp included in the order. If you need the tortillas to eat your fajitas, there was no way you were packing everything on the platter into the 3 that they provided (btw, choice of corn or flour). We were both stuffed and pleased with our order selection.
To be honest, the menu overall seems a tad expensive compared to your average mexican restaurant, which they are trying to be a bit more fancy than. I would visit again to share the fajitas...
