The Westfield Rink — Local services in Westfield

I was pretty sure that a lot of the negative reviews of this rink came from grouchy neighbors review bombing the place for political reasons, but honestly this place sucks. The rental skates they supply you are of poor quality at best, with some being straight up unusable, my partner had to exchange her skates 3 times before finding a pair that were sort of usable. The ice itself is also of terrible quality, I can understand there being a fair bit of scoring along the perimeter of a rink during a public session, but not the scale models of the grand canyon I saw when I visited today. The same is true to a lesser extent on the center of the ice.

Three additional notes;

The rental gazebo only carries up to a size 13, so if you’re a bigger shoe size, best to bring your own. Not subtracting points because that’s a really niche issue.

The men’s bathroom was out of commission, not a crazy big deal because there was a handicapped stall available as well as the Woman’s bathroom which are both single stalls with locking doors.

The concession stand is not worth it no matter what math you do. All of the items are terrible quality and overpriced, luckily the rink is surrounded by good food as well as a shoprite...

I called up and asked when stick and puck was and was told the schedule. Made no misunderstanding they said Monday at 7pm. When I showed up they informed me that there was no stick and puck and when I told them that I came out for it because I was informed that there was, no one seemed to care even a little bit. There was public skating 30 min later so I waited in the cold since it's an outdoor rink, and when I asked to pay they told me it was $14 FOR PUBLIC SKATING!!! In any other place it's around $5 and that's indoor with better temperatures and much better ice. I couldn't stay more than 30 min in the weather, ordered a $25 Uber home which was only worth it for a full stick and puck session and I knew I only had a ride one way!! No one was there to help or to try to make up for the situation that they started. And when I looked at other reviews after leaving I saw that many other people have problems with wrong information including many double bookings which just shows how the staff have zero clue what's going on and give out wrong information as if...

This rink after a girls youth hockey team drove an hour+ they decided to tell them as they were about to go on the ice that they were overbooked. This rink overbooked an ice hockey game with a family skate. The team was notified 10 minutes before hand. This means that they were fully dressed and ready and were told they had to leave. This leads me to the fact that this rink does not prioritize hockey. Do not recommend...
