Before I talk about Alpha Fit, I want to give a better picture of my experiences. The backstory sets the stage for the revelation.
Personally, I've done what feels like every popular group training class available. I do it because, while I love putting my headphones in and crushing heavy weights, I crave real community at the gym. The problem is that when you talk about community and traditional lifting, it often leads to 5-10 minutes of conversation with no training. When you flip that to the group fitness space, it's all environment with little interaction, or the interaction leads to low intensity. The bottom line: I love being around people, and I love the energy the right community brings, but I'm not interested in phoning it in or sacrificing what I consider sacred moments.
I'm an unbelievably busy person, and my gym time is precious to me. So, the challenge of wanting a strong community that cheers each other on SINCERELY (yes, I mean sincerely—not fake hype bullshit) and works intensely while walking away knowing that I left it all on the line is critical to me.
On top of that, I've been in fitness all my life. My dad was a bodybuilder who built an entire gym in our garage. I was in the gym from the time I was 5 years old. I played every sport, from baseball and football to MMA and wrestling. Fitness and athletics are in my blood, and they always will be.
Alpha Fit is fundamentally different in its energy, connectedness, and programming compared to anything I've ever experienced.
It perfectly satisfies my need for a top-of-the-line workout where I can still crush heavy weights, along with a powerfully supportive community that doesn't try to slow me down.
I love this gym, this team, and this environment. In fact, I drove 1,200 miles one way just to take my first class because the energy was so palpable.
This is the best group fitness training in the United States, and I'll tell that to anyone, anywhere, anytime. Nothing else compares.
To the on-the-fence person who randomly finds my review: read what I said, sure, but TAKE A CLASS. Experience it. No matter if you're a bodybuilder, powerlifter, high-level athlete, CrossFitter, Orangetheory fanatic, or anything else—I've been in all those spots. I've been where you are. TRY IT. You'll never regret this.
We're all going to be addicted to something—make it a good thing....
Read moreI’m generally not someone who buys into fitness classes. I stuck with a national chain for a while just to get some cardio in, but I never really felt good doing it and didn’t see much benefit after 2 years. A few friends and my wife had great experiences at Alpha, so I gave it a shot and I’m glad I did.
The structure and philosophy here just work. I actually look forward to the sessions, which is not something I expected. It complements my own weightlifting routine (albeit with some adjustments in timing and more emphasis on rest), and it’s been sustainable. One of the best coaches from my previous gym is now here, and I'll occassionally see other members trickling in and switching over to Alpha for good. But really, coaches and staff are just awesome, period.
Once the program clicks, and assuming you’re sleeping well and eating "properly" for your particular needs , the results speak...
Read moreAnother reviewer said that Alpha Fit Club became one of their favorite places in a really short amount of time, and I can't agree with that sentiment more! Even as someone who can be quite intimidated by gyms, I feel like I fit right in from day one - this is very much due to the welcoming and inclusive trainers, other staff, and fellow gym goers! The equipment was well-explained to me on my first day and the quick demo of each station before each class really helps. I've been to at least 20 classes and the workout is never the same, which I think is awesome. I'm no fitness connoisseur, but the equipment seems high end and well-maintained, the facility is clean, the trainers really are top notch, and the positive energy is contagious! Love this place and...
