The prices on everyday items are outrageous! I walked up and down most of the grocery isles and was flabbergasted at the high prices! I usually shop at Aldi or Walmart/Sam'sClub. I stopped at Meijer on Thursday as I was driving by, to save a trip in the opposite direction. I was looking for Meijer Brand bottled Apple Juice, Meijer Brand sliced white bread, and Meijer Brand Club Crackers...NO Meijer apple juice(only 3 bottles of Mott's...juice isle wiped out); NO Meijer white bread...bread isle aprox 1/3 full; and Meijer Brand club crackers were over $3./box! House Brand Walmart and Aldi club crackers are $2.34 and $2.19 respectively. I stopped again today at Meijer as I still needed the items for Monday morning. Two 64 oz. bottles of Meijer apple juice on the shelf...over $3./bottle! Walmart has their house Brand bottled apple juice $2.59 for 96 oz., and Aldi apple juice 64 oz is only $1.79. STILL NO Meijer white bread. I DID pay a reasonable price ($.47/lb) for bananas and V8 FUSION Juice...Aldi bananas are $.42/lb. and Walmart is $.48/lb; and today(Sunday) V8 FUSION juice was on sale for $2.99...Walmart reg. price is currently $3.49. Additionally, a young woman stocking shelves screamed "BRAD!" 3 times from 2 or 3 isles away trying to get the attention of her co-worker. Fred Meijer would have fired that behavior on the spot as there was NO emergent situation. After being disappointed twice in 4 days, I probably won't be back unless there is a dilly of a sale. I'll go in 'the opposite direction' to have items available, and at GREAT savings over Meijer prices. The door greeters were welcoming. The cashier assistants were very kind and helpful...I didn't need help at either visit, but I witnessed them helping others...it was aprox 5:50pm & 9:45pm when I was at the Meijer store located on the corner of Newburg and Warren...
Read moreWow, what a change from 1 year ago. A year ago I actually called and spoke to the store manager. At that time (pre-remodel), it always seemed at whatever time I went into the store, they had so few cashiers. The store manager was very nice and stated that they are trying to get more people hired and was trying different things, plus some big changes was going to happen in 2022 with the remodel.
At the starting of the year before the remodel, I did notice a change in staff and it was little bit better. Then the remodel happened. The store looks awesome! Here is what I do not like. Yes, I know other stores are doing this, but it frustrates me. Now 50-60% of all cashier lines are now gone and it is one massive self checkout. I hate this. I did notice now they have people that bag the items. This is a very nice touch! The only downside was the first few weeks that people bagged, they did a HORRIBLE job at bagging. I had at least 2 times that a person bagging put either heavier items in with things that could break or squish (aka bread). I am happy to report that it is better now in that area!
This store looks organized and clean! Yes, it did take a little getting use to for the new food aisles for certain items, but that is not a big deal.
I think the store has a good selection of items and most of the time a fair price (not all items). It helps that Mperks allow you to click digital coupons and once you put in a physical address every few weeks you get physical coupons from meijers and they are coupons based on your past shopping items, so you know you will more than likely use them
It is amazing what the staff and management has changed for the good in the last...
Read moreI am a cancer patient I tried to come to your store today to buy extra large clothing because the steroids are making me gain a lot of weight and you have some good clearance items. I was informed that you no longer have dressing rooms and that I would have to buy everything take it home and try it on and bring it all back, if it didn’t fit
I’m sure your company will blame that on the pandemic but that’s ridiculous
I had over $200 worth of clearance items and I wasn’t able to try on a single thing
I handed them back to the girls that were stocking the floor and told them they could put them away if I can’t try anything on
Who in the right mind would buy $200 worth of clearance items and not want to try anything on when they’re going through such a huge increase in their weight due to cancer
Not to mention, I can’t find a thing in your store you no longer do photo but you’ve dedicated so much volume and square footage to animals and then raise the price of every kind of pet food treat or animal purchase we would ever want to make when all, I wanted to do print some pictures but you obviously weren’t even able to keep that open
Let alone, dressing room, one dressing room for women, men, and children. It’s not that difficult to do a huge remodel dream model.
I will never come back to Myers again
I think I had better luck at the thrift store. They had fitting rooms mirrors, and everything was sized and priced properly unlike what I found at my 30 acres...
