This is a review for shipping. The second time I used it was a disaster and it took a whole HOUR to ship a package. I will NEVER ship from this location again, AVOID SHIPPING FROM HERE at all costs. I brought in things to mail to a college student in Western MA. There were only two people working for the whole copy center and shipping center. I said I needed to ship something overnight and a Staples employee gave me a label to fill out. He said that I could not get a price until I had a label completed, but he was sure it wouldn't cost more than $20. I filled out the label, selected a box, and packed it. The first guy was busy, so I asked the second Staples guy for a blank piece of paper to put the address inside the box, and had to ask three times over 5 to 10 minutes and was told the third time "You know I have other customers to wait on", when I had stood there that long for a piece of paper. He came over and I didn't have the box sealed and he went away even though I said "I am almost done." He had to finish up with two other customers but finally turned and said "Are you all set?" and was about to turn away from myself and a gentleman. We had been standing there at least 10, maybe 15 minutes. I said NO, we both need help! and the poor man let me go first. So- I told the young man I needed the package to get there the next day by 10:30. During the convo I said this two or three times. He looked at the form and said "This is the wrong label" and gave me a new one. I asked him how to release the signature and he said I didn't have to do anything, it did not require a signature. This sounded fishy so I called up my ex and he looked it up on the UPS site and told me how to release the signature. I gave the young man the second filled-out form. He started processing it and said it would be $31 and to go to the register. I looked at my copy and I said- this says third day delivery, I need overnight. He said OK and switched it to overnight. I said, is it guaranteed for 10:30? He said no, there is no way to do that when paying with an account. We don't have the right form for that. He told me to leave and go to a UPS location to ship it! I called my ex AGAIN and he said that they offered 10:30 delivery on the website. The young man said the only way to get 10:30 AM delivery was to pay for it directly, not billing it to an account, and the computer would let him check 10:30 AM. I said OK. He did up the label on the computer. First, he got my return address wrong. Then, when I asked him to copy my son's address off the label, he started using my ex's return address in Needham! If I hadn't been on the ball (and by this time checking everything he did) he would have sent the package to my son's father. He started filling in the correct address and then said Needham, right? I said NO, North Adams. I looked at the label and he had entered third day air. I said- no I need the package overnight. I have told you that at least three times. He corrected it, and it rang up as $81. He said he would honor the $31, and that I could have the box for free, the only good part of this horrible transaction. I asked him why the receipt didn't say 10:30 and he assured me it was guaranteed for 10:30. By this time I really didn't trust him and I asked him twice more and the answer stayed the same. So here is the kicker- the UPS trailer was delayed, and I got an email saying that the package would not get there by 10:30. Read moreWent into the store to print three documents, which probably would’ve been a total of $.50 their system will not take my debit card so I went over to the print stuff and asked for them to put a pin in so I can print it and then pay with cash. They told me I could buy it through both gift card which I do not want to do it’s not I have to spend the $20 in Staples. She called the manager down to put a pin in who told me no I cannot do that, Mind you I have done this many times at this exact location the short blonde who look like she just rolled out of bed was so incredibly rude to me. I thought you was going to scream at me in front of everybody in the store for asking. I walked out and told her I would just go buy a printer and you can get one on Amazon for about 20 bucks for what I need . I was I’m walking over to the register all I’m hearing is a short, disheveled, blonde, so-called manager screaming at her staff mind you I’m all the way across the store now I turn and look back and she’s flailing her arms soon if I catch any one of you putting a pin in for a customer you’ll be fired. Staples policy or not the level of professionalism presented to me by Trish the manager on duty this morning at this location was awful. I work for customer service management for a very large company and oversee 30 reps. If I ever spoke to my staff like this, I hope I would be fired as it was simply unacceptable and degrading.. Read moreI’ve had nothing but good experiences with the store itself - a manager went above and beyond to help me secure a desk chair and I had a great experience buying a laptop.
But their printing services… wow. It’s rare that I would have a project done on time but usually it’s only a day behind. Recently however I had to check in because two days after my project was supposed to be done I still hadn’t received a call or email to tell me it’s ready. I called the store only to be told that it’s been ready for pick up for two days. I told the clerk that no one ever called and the website still says it was pending. “Oh the website is behind” - right but no one called. “When we click the ready for pick up button the website usually changes but it’s behind” - right but no one called and usually you call. “The website is behind.”
So, don’t expect anything grand from the printing services. Glad I didn’t need my project urgently otherwise I’m sure this review would be...
