The Cove — Local services in Hingham

Bad soundproofing! The Cove is an apartment complex made up of two separate buildings, 350 Beal St and 300 Beal St. 350 Beal St was the first building to open, 300 Beal followed. Both buildings are very recent, 300 Beal St, I’m told, opened in April 2020. Don’t know when 350 Beal St opened.

The staff, both maintenance and management, were very friendly, handled our request swiftly and gave good service.

Both buildings are gorgeous, the décor is very modern, everything is clean and new. There is an outdoor pool with lounge area, tables and lawn chairs. Other amenities include a very well-equipped gym, a place to do Yoga, a lounge with fireplace, a pool table, room to store bikes that include a tower with air pump. There are small conference rooms available. There is also a dog wash station. You will even find complimentary Starbucks coffee.

All those amenities, minus the dog wash station and bike room are located in the first building that opened, 350 Beal St. If you’re living at 300 Beal, you’ll have to walk outside to the other building in order to enjoy those. There is no indoor connection between the two.

At The Cove, the location is key. It’s close to three different grocery stores, many shops and restaurants. The ferry that leads to downtown Boston is just a short walk away (7 to 8 minutes) and the West Hingham T station is 5 minutes by car.

That’s the biggest asset to this property and, in my opinion, it’s only asset.

Unfortunately to enjoy the amenities and the relative closeness to transportation to Boston you will have to endure the noise from your neighbors. The sound proofing was definitely not on the priority list during the construction.

You hear everything, and I mean everything. When walking in the halways you hear tv’s and conversation through the doors. If you’re not on the top floor you will surely hear every footstep the upstairs people take. The sound proofing is so deficient that we routinely heard our neighbor bedroom door as it opened and closed because the hinges lacked lubrication. At night, you can hear conversations across walls. The quality of the build is very poor. We could see the hallway lights through our door because it did not fit properly in the opening. The same thing was noticeable at other apartments as we could see the interior light from the hallway.

The reality does not live up to the expectations marketing creates. Way too pricey for the comfort level provided.

The maintenance team at The Cove is among the best I have ever seen, and the grounds are impeccably maintained. Having previously owned a condo, I can confidently say that I have never encountered such well-kept grounds. The community is very pet-friendly, and Jared has made our transition as a family of three incredibly comfortable.

If I could rate my experience, I would give Jared a perfect 10 out of 10 for his professionalism, personality, and compassion. He is undoubtedly the face of The Cove, being the first person you meet as you enter the main entrance. I couldn't be happier with my decision to move here, and my children adore him as well! I toured two other complexes in the area before I chose The Cove. Once I toured The Cove, I decided right then and there I would apply with them. The Cove is superior on all levels compared to the other complexes and it’s most out standing feature is its leasing team. I was fortunate to have Jared Klein as my tour guide. He is a friendly, kind, knowledgeable informative and professional leasing agent. The moving process is always stressful but Jared made it fast and efficient. His quick response to all my emails and his directions on getting through the application process made it much less stressful for me. His follow through to the end of the application process and after convinced me even more that I made the right decision to move to The Cove. The Cove is a superior complex with all the modern amenities along with super clean grounds and common areas. Other residents are friendly and are of all ages.
