The associate I asked for help didn't seem knowledgeable OR treat me with the respect any customer deserves. She actually looked at me as if I didn't belong there. Yes, I have large gauges (earrings) and dress more like a "punk" than a farmer... that doesn't mean I should be treated like a derelict. This particular store seems to stock more touristy-gift ideas than hardware.
In reply to the comment from Ace on this review: I was asked to complete a survey about my experience and said the same things. The survey asked if I'D LIKE TO BE CONTACTED about the experience, to which I answered "yes" and left my contact information. If Rivers Ace truly wanted to know more about my experience, or try to make it right, I wouldn't be getting comments and emails telling me to call them. They have my contact info and can reach me if it's actually considered important to improve...
Read moreI recently purchased a commercial washer dryer set from Rivers and had the best experience. Tommy listened to what I hated about my current washer and dryer and was very knowledgeable overall. He took the time to explain differences between washers without agitators, with fake ones, and with true agitators. I was confident in choosing a set that was a good fit for what I wanted. I went in on a Tuesday and the appliances were delivered to my house the next morning! I have had them now for almost a week and everything Tommy said about them has held true. It’s nice going somewhere local and having someone truly want to send you home with good appliances. Hoping he’s still around when we need to replace other appliances!
Update 2/11. Apparently he has been fired. I left a message 2/6 about my warranty issues that Tommy was helping with and haven’t had a call back....
Read moreThis is for all the stores owned by Rivers Ace Hardware (specifically Oceana Builders Supply). Recently I purchased two 40# bags of tube sand (the web page stated you had play sand) it was not sand, it was loam with clay, rocks and roots, $7 dollars a bag. You can get play sand in a 50# bag at Home Depot for $3.98 a bag. I also needed 3" DWV PVC Sch 40, $38.99 per 10' stick (pressure pipe, didn't need but that's all you had). Home Depot has the same thing for $20 per 10' stick. You may be local, but I'll save my money for Muskegon or Ludington big box stores. Tell ACE to get their prices in line if you want to be competitive. Ok, so you say you don't have pressure pipe, regardless, your DWV pipe prices are almost twice the big box stores. I'll drive the 30 minutes. Just because you are "convenient" doesn't mean I have to pay...
