This on of the most racist places I've been to in a while in Las Vegas. I am a black man. I've found out that in Las Vegas, Hispanics don't like black people. This was on full display at this store. Every aisle I went through I was followed or in eye contact with someone who works there. Then me, my wife, and daughter were getting shrimp, but couldn't weigh it, so I grabbed a ticket which no one was in line to see if they could weigh it for me. A lady that didn't speak English kept pointing to the register for me to weigh it there, so another lady yelled out as loud as she could "Sir weigh it at the front," then when I explained to her I was trying to figure out how much it weighed before I went to the register so I would know if I could get more or over the limit that I came for. She snatched the bag from with a mean look, threw the shrimp on the scale and weighed it then just left it there. When my wife tried to file a complaint they acted like they didn't know where she was, and mind you this is a grocery store and it did even have enough shoppers in there to half way fill a gas station. So if you are my color which is black, this is a no go...
Read moreEveryone, including managers, cashiers, stock techs, slot attendant, and, especially security, working at Cardenas are friendly, kind, and helpful. It's easy to see why this store is busy. The prices are very reasonable (check the meat department!!) and I found most of the brands I prefer. When I saw how happy the customers were while they shopped, even while standing in line to check out, I knew I'd be happy at Cardenas too. ...and I was If nothing else, check out their bakery items and tortillas that taste homemade. The tortillas are far better than I find in regular grocery stores! And the bread and especially the cakes offered have good, natural ingredients, no additives or chemical ingredients like some shelf Bakery products have. You can even try a "single serving" piece of cake, it's so big it could actually be shared with a friend.. I, however, hid mine and shared with no one, it was that good: fresh, chocolately, creamy inside...
Read moreIf you’re not a Spanish speaking Hispanic/Mexican (not sounding discriminatory either), this is really not the place to shop. You get absolutely NO help finding items, and the language barrier is extreme. They truly brush you off with rudeness and attitude as if they really don’t want to help you. I’ve experienced this a few time and my last time was far worse than any other time I’ve gone. They don’t put up any extra effort to satisfy their non Mexican/Hispanic customer. In fact, most don’t even know where items are located in the door nor do they direct you to someone who does. They just point you in any direction and go on about their workday. The meat department is no better. They will take their sweet Jesus time getting to you, period. When asked for a manager, I’ve been told a few time there are no managers on duty. I hate going to this store with a passion. It’s a...
