Renee’s French Bakery — Local services in Wildwood

Today was my 4th time here. Really loved it the first 2 times. The third time the baguette was over cooked and very hard. I let them know when I left and the girl said sorry but it was probably because it was the last one of the day! Crazy answer but okay. Went back today for lunch and asked it the bread was softer because last time it was very hard. The girl said they were baking and would be 8 min wait. I said that is fine and waited outside at a table. My sandwich came out in a very short time , funny if it was in the oven like she said it should have been warm. But that’s fine.. I asked her for a napkin and she told me to go inside to get it.. so why are you asking people for a tip if not going to serve them? Then 5 min later the owner and another girl came out to ask me what the problem was. I said there is no problem and was confused. The owner does not really speak English so the other girl was there to translate. They said I was rude to there new employee, if asking for a napkin and the bread to be not hard is rude then maybe I was .. they were nasty and aggressive. I said that’s fine I will not be back . Was really looking forward to lunch and pastries to celebrate my birthday today. We were the only customers after arriving and being greeted by one of the staff. After giving her our order, we sat at one of the tables. We waited for about 20 min before I asked what was going on. There was no order and the two ladies whispered that my order couldn't be filled because they were out of an item. It was another few minutes before our table was approached and I ordered again. More waiting and she returned informing me they couldn't fill the order. As we were leaving, she offered to put me ahead of the crowd now standing in the shop to get pastries. First time coming here with my husband and sister. Abrupt and abrasive service. Ordered 3 simple breakfast items that were clearly described on menu and then we were told that NO the one item did not come with a baguette and then Ridley dismissed and then promptly the owner says yes it did and the baguette was brought out with disdain and rudeness and said “that was never done before” instead of offering “my mistake”. We witnessed other customers being poorly treated as well at the counter. Needs new training for their employees either that or just customer service isn’t a priority.. just appalling.
