Rust and Shine — Local services in Williamsport

My experience here was completely awkward. I ended up buying things- but sadly I don’t think I will ever be coming back. In this store you definitely have to take time and look very close at everything, since there is SO much to look at there, I wanted to take everything in. It’s a cute shop. I was looking at the cutest little antiques- This man who was working there seemed like he was just a shopper (I had no idea at the time) but he came in and pretended to shop? Not exactly sure what he was doing?) and I had things in my hand. He then turned around as if he was going to leave and took the items off my hands and said he would hold them upfront. This was very very weird to me. Normally if I have too much in my arms- I politely go ask the employees if they can hold it for me, but this man did not even give me the chance to. Then, while I thought that was weird- later on I found the cutest sign to hang up on my wall, but I was debating if I wanted to buy it and AGAIN this man came and took it out of my hands to hold for me upfront- I mean he didn’t even give me the chance to really debate if I wanted it or not (it’s now hanging in my kitchen and I do love it) but this was just completely rude. This guy was just weird and seemed like he never had ANY experience in the customer service/retail world. Also, I could not tell if it was because of my nationality. (Hispanic) I did feel a little judged by him. Then the checkout was awkward as well. This other lady was there and they were just rude. I also saw that they had cameras to display right in the front and while I think that’s great and all- I have to wonder if they watched me the whole time because they thought I was going to steal? Great shopping experience for anything from brand new to antique finds and even clothing. I love the variety to choose from and there is something for everyone from cute name brand dresses for my daughter to home decor that suites any style of decorating. The staff is friendly and helpful. So glad to have a fun unique store like this...
