RUDE woman ran me off just as I was about to purchase 3 bar stools. I came in this afternoon with my father and daughter to look for a sofa for him, but he was unimpressed with the quality after our trip to Pottery Barn especially when he saw they were nearly priced as much and nowhere near as comfortable. So, we were just meandering around when I came across 4 barstools that would be perfect for my kitchen and sent him to ask someone there if we could borrow a tape measure while I took a photo to send to my husband as my daughter and I sat on two of the stools. Before I could even finish my message - just after I had stood up and moved maybe 2 feet away from her with my dad in between - I hear a very rude and abrasive voice sternly scolding my daughter not not climb on the furniture. I was put off by it considering my daughter had simply turned around from seated to step down onto the wooden footrest to safely climb down from the stool so I just sort of looked at her with an expression showing my lack of appreciation for the tone without saying a word. She comes over toward us with a rag in her hand aggressively wiping the stool my daughter had now gotten off of rudely telling us, "People buy these, ok? And they aren't going to want them with dirty handprints all over them. That's why we can't just have kids climbing all over all of the furtniture. There is a huge sign at the front of the store that says so." at which point my dad responded with something like, "ok" and looked at me. So as she walked away (and my husband responded APPROVING the purchase) I asked my dad if my daughter had put her feet on the seat or something or if he knew why she was so angry with us and he confirmed all she had done was safely climb down. Then I asked what the lady had wiped off and he said "it just looked like a piece of gray lint" (my daughters clothing was green and white). At that point I just looked at them both and said, "let's just go" and we left. I have shopped at this store many times and always keep an eye on my kids if they are with me and have even recommended them to many friends and neighbors. Not any more. I love to support local and all, but I'll be spending my money elsewhere moving forward. P.S. We looked for the "huge" sign on our way out and did...
Read moreOver the last 2 years, I've been inside The Waters Edge Market Place around 4 times. It's always the same, no friendly, welcoming people working here to even say hello. Also, there are just guessing but around 25+ signs when you enter and all around the store that say No this, No that, Don't this, Don't that. Very negative. I will never go back to this store again. Not sure why I went...
