We moved my Mom into the Commons at Brightmore (memory care) the first of the year. We are beyond ecstatic at how great she is doing. The staff is amazing. They truly treat these folks as if they are their own family. They deal with this very challenging population with kindness, humor and compassion. The area supervisor, Emma, is amazing. She is dedicated to her work and, as a result, she has a superb team working with her. The community is VERY clean. It is bright and airy with outdoor gardens. The meals are well balanced, plated beautifully and healthy. I don't know how they do it, but the team is able to get my Mom showered and get her hair washed on a regular basis. (Something we really struggled with at home!) They take time to do more than "dress" her - I often find her nails painted and her hair styled. The interaction with the other residents is constant and my Mom hasn't been this happy and relaxed in quite some time. They have an RN on staff (Emily) who really knows her patients. We struggled for years trying to keep my Mom at home and now wish we'd made the move earlier. My Mom needs the constant interaction with other residents and really has blossomed in her new home. One last comment - that is VERY important - is that this staff talks and communicates to each other. The hand off from shift to shift is thorough. They know what is going on with each of their residents. If you choose not to pick this facility, please make sure that wherever your loved one goes that the staff communicates with each other AND with you! If I could give them more than 5...

May wants the best for all the residents both moving in and once they become apart of the family. For over 10 years, we've had the privilege of providing Kitchen and Bath services for The Brightmore of Wilmington. Our experience with the staff and the residents has been fantastic! We especially appreciate the professionals (Frank and staff ) who work very hard to make each unit beautiful before residents move in, and diligently to keep them serviced and updated while they reside there.
