Not true‼️ Convinced my 69yr old mother who was totally independent on her own. that having total knee replacement on right knee would take the pain away and she would walk better. Had right knee done back in August 2019. Problems occurred, pain, knee swollen, hot to touch, filled with fluid on knee, needed a revision. Another surgery‼️Never during talk about replacement that if surgery didn’t go as said another surgery. The pain after recovery has horrible. Stayed a week in hospital both times.Still wasn’t relieved of pain and walking hadn’t improved. So left knee was giving her problems as well. He convinced, guaranteed my mom that over use of left knee during past surgery was the problem. So here we go again, total left knee replacement. OMG‼️ Dr. Bowling convinced her both knees were worn out. The only way to relieve pain and walk better was to have the surgery. Had left knee total replacement in March. Just know at this point right knee still in recovery, walking in recovery. No improvement. Had left knee replacement, pain worse than first replacement. Stayed a week in hospital this time as well. Not being able to walk, admitted to rehab. Went through rehab no improvement But since insurance coverage was done, discharged to go home. No matter the end results for us.She was going home. Set up in home therapy. Home care therapy to me is a joke. They getting paid to travel and get paper signed to get paid. So now 3 surgeries, pain still present and not being able to walk upright.Cant get 2 nd opinion because no one wants to go behind another surgeon. At this point, we don’t have a choice. More problems occurred and Dr. Bowling states a revision needs to be done. It’s getting real crazy. He wants to do a revision and she can’t even walk now‼️Had revision in October, another week hospital stay. Mom stated no rehab, didn’t feel comfortable going there due to patient care problems. So home we go to tackle these problems. Pain Never taken care of. So now both knees in recovery, not being able to walk. All on us. Problems we didn’t create. Mom complained and complained something’s wrong. Left knee swollen, hot to touch, red, filled with fluid on knee and in total pain since surgery. No relief. Explained to every PT that came something’s not right. Each one stated it’s fine, looks good it’s normal.Since they should know the signs of problems, in reality that didn’t. Dec3, 2024 admitted to hospital for infection in left knee. Another surgery that was a must. Because of infection had to have pick line placed to receive IV antibiotics for 6 weeks and after that 6mths antibiotics by mouth . 5 surgeries when you only have 2 knees is ridiculous and unprofessional. Another week stay in hospital was the worse of them all. My mom hasn’t walked upright since 2019. It doesn’t make since. Now in rehab can’t walk totally dependent on others. Rehab suppose to make improvements and having problems with them as well. Only reason going to rehab is to get IV antibiotics and they can’t do that properly. Have to go 2 or 3 times a day to make sure she’s getting proper care. Now having problems getting in contact with Dr. Bowling concerning patient orders. Rehab call, I call still not receiving paperwork needed. So what’s being told to us by Dr. Bowling and now new doctor Infection Disease doctor in the end another surgery may have to take place if infection is still present. I wish this on no one. The worst feeling in the world watching your mom suffer in pain not being able to walk. Convinced by a doctor surgery after surgery who has created problem after problem. The main goal was to regain walking ability.. Dr. Bowling had my mom convinced over and over. Now she says when she hears his name, it makes her sick to the stomach. Recommend, Never Ever. Total disappointment‼️Don’t believe the talk we living reality. Patient neglect due to problems Dr. Bowling created. Antibiotics for life or another surgery, NO words to...

Dr Jack Bowling was recommended to me by Dr Howe of Winston Salem concerning pain in my hip. It took better than a month to get in to see him. We I did get in to see him I found him to be a very likable and caring person. I explained that I have been in severe pain from my hip for about eight months and that I believed I had severe bursitis. He said that was possible but there was a nerve in my back that caused pain very much like bursitis and he would start from there. Then if that did not work he would start treating me for bursitis. I had an MRI of my back and he prescribed an injection into my spine. It did nothing and week later the pain is just as severe as before the shot. I called him back and was told by his nurse that he would prescribe a guided shot into my hip that would relieve bursitis pain , if that be the case. I waited for a call for a week and when his office did not return my call I called again and was told by one of his staff that he was not going to okay the shot, that I needed to see a spine doctor, She said he was not in the practice of ordering shots just because someone wanted one. I don t know why his attitude changed toward me. I asked the person who called me,"What would it hurt, then I would know definitely one way or the other and it might relieve this pain I have had for six or seven months. She said very rudely that he was not going to prescribe the shot. So here I am after waiting for over a month to see him in just as much pain as before and now looking for another doctor who will give me a simple shot into the joint in my hip. One thing I did observe is that his staff are very rude and show no concern for your problems or or your pain. My time with this doctor was wasted and he obviously in not the person I thought him to be...

Run while you can from this “doctor” Bowling. He put my dad in a wheelchair never to walk again. He talked my dad into 7 surgeries. He had 5 on one knee. He caused my dad to walk with a limp after his hip surgery because they put a rod in that was too long for him. He had to wear special platform shoes for this reason. It took a toll on his knee. After one of his last knee surgeries he came out and basically told us they broke some bone below the knee to put another rod in. My dad broke his femur bone one night as he was standing, his leg just gave away due to yet a faulty way Dr. Bowling did his surgery. My dad went to Duke and had another surgery for an infection that had set in. We were told by Dr. Bowling he may have to amputate it. I truly believe he would have done that. I said he’s not touching your knee again! My dad was 83 and had been in a wheelchair for 3 years thanks to Dr. Bowling. After he came home from his last surgery in Duke, his health declined quickly. I believe Dr. Bowling is to blame for a lot of my dad’s issue at the end. He had a healthy heart, but anything that Dr. Bowling did took a toll on my dad. How can this man be proud of his work. I hurt my knee and knew I would never see him. I found a great independent doctor who use to work with Emerge Ortho. He said they love to sell you braces and perform multiple surgeries on you.
