I am basing this review after several attempts fyi. This is my go to place for delivery. The pizza is very thin crust, perfect balance of cheese and sauce. I am from western NY, and all the places back home used canned mushrooms for their pizzas. Please don’t ever change that. The texture and flavor puts me right back to childhood and is incredibly nostalgic and delicious. I always order double mushrooms and they don’t disappoint. The chicken cutlet sandwich I called in an order to personalize (no options on the website) was flipping amazing. The bread, the lightly fried cutlet, and all the weird stuff I put on my hero (the guy on the phone was really patient and nice to me- I felt bad for personalizing something) was really well executed and tasted fresh. The cheesesteak is really unique. So much flavor- and again the sub roll they use is the perfect vessel. Huge amount of meat. Lovely. Wings are lightly breaded, but not overpoweringly so. They are huge wings- way bigger than most of the restaurants in the area. The skin didn’t get rubbery when I ate leftovers the next day. Good ranch too (restaurant quality- not hidden valley). The prices are very fair in comparison to larger chains. You’re getting much better product, and the largest size pizza is absolutely massive. All in all, I’ll probably be ordering a couple times a month when I feel lazy and don’t want to cook or if I feel nostalgic for a...
Read moreI have been here about 8-10 times because I live near buy and it’s easy. Yet, it’s horrible. The fist time I ordered a calzone with grilled mushrooms green peppers and onions it came with jalapeño peppers. I immediately called and the sent another one. The grandma pizza is thick and sits out all day and you can’t even cut into it. Tonight was the last straw. I ordered a calzone with GRILLED PEPPERS ONIONS AND MUSHROOMS. Only to cut into it and the mushrooms were out of a can/jar and green peepers and onions crunchy/raw not grilled. I don’t know what those kids are smoking over there but I am pretty easy to please. I’ll go back to Mellow Mushroom for my calzones. Convince should not cause your quality of food to be so low. I could have gone to teeter and gotten fresh pizza dough and made this myself for $15 less. But convenience… won’t go back again. My friends and I have all gone in several times and we agree. Read moreI am from Brooklyn NY, and fondly remember the great "real" NY style pizza on 13th avenue. The pizza was thin crust and crispy, the flavor of the pizza was memorable, great seasoning and tomato sauce. Sorry, but this is not reproduced at Brooklyn Pizza in Wilmington. It's an okay pizza, but not like NY. After trying so many "NY style" pizzas in this area, the truth is that you cannot reproduce NY style pizza in the south. Why don't they just call it NC-style pizza, or just pizza? For some reason, getting a crispy thin crust pizza is difficult. The flavor may have something to do with the seasoning, e.g., not enough if any oregano. But the key is the sauce and the cheese. The good stuff. Old world sauce was flavored with good quality meat, probably not used here. And you cannot beat the imported Italian tomatoes and mozzarella. I'll probably go back to Brooklyn Pizza, NC, but I keep looking for a real NY-style pizza...
