I am not usually a social person but like to venture out to the local coffee shops when I do feel social. This morning I went to coffee shop closest to me. I ordered a few food items and a cold match latte with almond milk no ice. I worked at a coffee shop for many years. Typically, one takes an order and it gets filled. This morning the lady took my order then proceeded take the next person's order and socialize. So I waited. Eventually she comes to make my order she only fills my cup half way. I ask her, "is this it"? She says well the rest would have been ice. In my experience when someone ask for no ice...you fill the cup anyway. I paid a lot of money for the match latte...that is the plastic cup, the matcha, water and almond milk used to mix it as well as the effort she took to make it. I didn't realize that ice was prerequisite. As a long term batista I would never have insisted my customer have ice or receive a half empty cup. It is cheaper for me to make it at home...and I suppose I won't get frowned at for pointing out with a giggle someone's misspelling of the word Social (sacial..š¤£š¤£š¤£)....

Coffee is good and atmosphere is fun, and we wanted to support a local Christian coffee shop, but the employees make us not want to come back. Weāve come in and had the workers sigh at us because we ordered and they had to actually do their jobs. I wasnāt going to leave a review, but the girl today was blatantly rude to my fiance when the worker didnāt understand what she was ordering, and then her drink even came out looking and tasting strange. They are lazy, donāt want to work, sigh when they have to do their jobs, have a bad attitude, and today they were rude.
Weād love to come back, but leadership needs to do KPIās and performance reviews to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy absolute favorite coffee shop in Wilmington. A lot of coffee shops can nail the vibe but can't offer great coffee. There's quite a bit to be said for a place that is somewhere you want to hang out, has superb in-house roasts, and great customer service. Social Coffee is that place. The regular menu offers simple, delicious drinks, as well as all the generic espresso options. My favorite is The Local. Their seasonal menus are the most unique I have found in Wilmington. Something that also sets them apart from other shops are their markets and trivia nights. There's always something going on! Social will continue to be my go-to, and I'm proud to say I...
