I had a terrible experience with Lauren at this salon. It was my first time coming here and was excited to get my hair done in time for a family Christmas party, and my parents had offered to pay for the visit as a Christmas gift, but I was unaware that Lauren was new to the cosmetologist profession. This should be listed somewhere before a customer books so that they will be aware of what theyâre signing up for. As she was doing my hair, she kept having to ask the other stylist Alicia what to do and admitted outloud to me (while I was in her chair and already had dye in my hair) that she had never done a balayage and avoided doing them in cosmetology school because they scared her. I wear glasses and have to put full trust in the stylist when getting my hair done as I literally cannot see a thing without them, which is something I deeply regret, because once I got home and my hair flattened back out, I was able to see a multitude of mistakes on my head.
The red color used as the base of my balayage is the correct color and is beautiful, but it was placed on the direct top of my head and wasnât blended out at all. I look like someone smashed a tomato on my roots. Not only that, but the red color was left in so long that it changed the texture of my roots. I was sitting in the chair with dye in my hair for 2+ hours when Google can plainly tell you that 45mins is the max. I pray that my hair isnât as fried as it feels.
Then onto the highlights, I used to have bright warm toned blonde that I loved and wanted to keep warm toned, but it was completely changed without me requesting it. It is now an ashy cool tone and looks completely gray on my money piece while the back of my hair has a totally different colorâ itâs a little more blonde, like the toner was only placed in the front for some reason, which I know it wasnât. The reference photos I used were not gray in the slightest and had a very pretty light reddish blonde to match the red going on the base. Speaking of the money piece, I specifically asked for a thin one, and this is the thickest money piece Iâve ever had in my entire life. It takes up a fourth of my head.
To add salt to the wound, my hair had been curled in the salon so I didnât realize how crooked my haircut was until a few days later when my hair had totally flattened back out. It is so noticeable that coworkers and friends have offered to fix it for me.
But thatâs not all. Whatever had been put in my hairâ or maybe it was because I had potent color in my hair for too longâ caused me to have an allergic reaction for the first time in my life. I have been red and itching for days now and have only found relief in an eczema cream. Iâve never had skin problems ever in my entire life.
Finally, I came home with a $40 limited edition shirt totally ruined because of red hair dye being dropped down the back of it. I had no idea that it had been stained until I got home and my father pointed it out. I have never walked out of a salon with a drop of anything ANYWHERE but on my hair, let alone have a shirt completely ruined!
I reached out to the owner Annette to let her know about my experience and how Iâd like things to be fixed. I requested a refund as well as payment for the shirt that was ruined, both of which I assumed wouldnât happen, but I did figure that Annette would at least care enough about the reputation of her business to offer to fix it herself. However, she instead threw all responsibility onto Lauren and offered no help for me or the person who rents the booth in HER business. This is very unprofessional and unfair both for myself and for Lauren, who did offer to fix my hair and I will give her credit for that, however I refused because I am afraid to sit in her chair again.
Moral of the story is, do your research! I shouldâve looked more into this business and the stylist before ever stepping foot into the building. I have now wasted my parentsâ generous Christmas gift and will have to pay someone else to fix my hair so itâll hopefully look decent going into 2025. Wish me...
Read moreI had been going to Annette's old location for a couple of years, and was happy with the girl that did my hair that left. I have been trying to grow my hair out for a long time. Darian, the girl that left did a great job on my hair. When she left, I started seeing Annette. The first time Annette did my hair, it was great. She was careful and it was still at her large salon. When I went to her new, much smaller salon just for highlights, it was fairly new and a bit chaotic. She worked me in and apparently had some appointments and drop ins. Add to that, that they were celebrating the dog's birthday, and a girl with very long hair was in getting her hair redone, and that left me with Annette putting me under a dryer for too long and I eventually got too hot and got out. I left with half dried hair because I had a doctor's appointment. My hair was knotting up, so I used Olaplex on it, and not even that saved my hair. The first time I washed my hair and conditioned it, was sticky like gum. I had to go have more than 6" cut off a week later by the lady I was fortunate to find that knew how to rescue severely damaged hair. I spent a very long time and effort growing my hair out. Now, after using the products the new stylist had me start using. She cut as little as possible and has had me babying it for a year now. Now, a year later, and after losing almost 12" of hair that had to be cut off (everywhere the highlights had been put in by Annette), it is finally back where I started. I have two more inches of severe damage at the ends, so one more cut and my hair will be healthy again. I wrote to Annette and let her know my husband and I were very upset over me having to cut my hair and I asked for a refund but never heard back. The photos just popped up on my memory timeline not long ago and it reminded us of how frustrating this was. I paid over $100 (including the tip) to have my hair ruined. I understand moving chaos and the new salon being much smaller, but just leaving me under a dryer to overprocess while the dog birthday and other things were distractions was unacceptable. I am grateful to have found a lady that does a perfect job cutting it and I use a Madison Reed color with no ammonia now due to lung issues, and it turns out perfectly for a fraction of the price. I wish I had left my hair alone and not wanted the highlights. It would be a foot longer now. I always thought Annette was a Christian woman of integrity, but after she simply ignored my issues and request for a refund, I no longer feel that way. Mistakes can happen in any situation. The way they are handled after they happen is key, and Annette simply ignored mine. If you go, and it is busy and they are distracted, be careful and make sure you get the...
Read moreThis place was a very cute little salon with nice workers as well as customers, my hair was exactly as I wanted and since my hair was so thick I got to enjoy their company for 7 hours and it was one of the best hair places I've ever been to. They changed my hair from Burnette to a beautiful smoky blue, and Paris, the nice lady who did my hair, was very gentle and made sure I was informed on what was going on. She also took pictures and curled my hair for free afterwards for the pictures. They turned out great and I will definitely be going there for every dye job I do...
