TinCap Hard Cider Craft Beer and BBQ Taproom — Restaurant in Wilmington

Went for a to-go lunch. Very nice place. Bar tender was not very personable. He lacked customer service skills. He didn't answer my question but gave me a bunch of unnecessary info I didn't ask for about the menu. He was in a rush and pushy about taking my order.

He assumed my order was in-house because he neglected to ask if it was for 'here or to-go' and got a little edgy when I told him I wanted it to-go because he had to go tell the kitchen staff to make it to-go after he put the order in.

He called me "Bud". Sir, would be better. Maybe be a little more attentive on getting the right info instead of being macho, intimidating, and giving too much info about the menu that wasn't asked about? We're ordering food here, not a bouncer checking I.D.'s and taking a cover charge at the front door.

I ordered a brisket platter. The side of potato salad and the cornbread was good. I wasn't impressed with the beans or the brisket. The portions were too small and inconsistent. Several of the small sliced pieces of brisket were dry, tough, and chewy, not tender at all. Two pieces had too much fat but were more tender. The food was disappointing at best.

We saw recommendations on a Facebook (AKC Fast Cat) group page that TinCap was a great place to eat, dog friendly. Well they were right ! The owner/manager/employee not sure which greeted us at the outdoor picnic table with a friendly smile , bowl of water for our dog and a large biscuit!! There is no "service" per se , you go to the counter order food/drinks and they'll call you to pick it up. That's why I gave service only 4 stars, not really a deal breaker I guess. But the ciders they make are Amazing ! Well worth the flight of 4 to sample the flavors. The Brisket sandwich was the most flavorful, most tender juicy brisket I've ever had, simply delicious!! We also ordered the brisket street tacos, they were out of this world ! Another delicious item on the menu. I did order a side of the Hatch Green chili Mac/cheese. Fabulous, never had anything like it before !!
