My family and I have spent many years enjoying skating at scooters. We've had many parties and church functions throughout the years. The owner and staff have always been nice. A few weeks ago my family and I started taking our children skating every Saturday. Today my son decided to play the machine games and he wont a small bouncy ball. Apparently the owner asked him not to play with it inside and to sit on the bench for five minutes. Instead, my child walked over to me and begin to tell me what happened. I decided we would leave as we had been there for hours anyway. The owner came overe ans explained what happened and while we were talking I asked my 9 year old to go stand by the door. The owner and I talked and I thanked him for coming over as an adult to let me know what happened. While leaving, I noticed the owners sister, who is an employee as well, was speaking with my son. Obviously what she was saying made him upset because he was about to cry. I asked her what was going on and if she would not speak with my 9 uear old but myself, as we are the adults. She began to raise her voice and speak in a rude manner so I simply said "it's ok, we are just going to go you all enjoy the rest of your day" Her response was "good and dont come back." I politely asked why we were being asked to not come back and the owners reply was "well you can but little guy cant because i asked him to stop playing with the ball in here" Why have a machine with balls you can win but not play with? VERY disappointed that this happened and the sister was extremely rude and unprofessional. Others were actually coming in as we were leaving out and decided to leave because of the sister's negative attitude...
Read moreThe staff was extremely friendly. I noticed when I came to write my review there were a lot of stereotype remarks. If these people stereotype they forgot to do so today. They were extremely polite. The guy at the window did ask my 18 year old to pull up his pants. My son respectfully walk in and pulled up his pants. We were visiting so we were not sure how much time we wanted to spend there. The guy offered to let us pay until 6p and if we wanted to stay longer he would only charge us the difference(he didn't have to do that). After 20 minutes my husband upgraded. At 6 my three little ones no longer wanted to skate and the guy refunded us. I see this place have a lot of rude comments but I'm not sure they deserve them. The lady at the window was a bit fiesty but when she noticed we were not rude to them she was also polite to us. We aren't locals but I will say they were not disrespectful or anything to us at any time. They accommodated us all they could. We had two cars and not one person complained about staffing. (I'm hard to please so..) Even the younger employees at the skate window were polite. For me and my family we will return when in the area. Thank you guys for your great service. WE/MY family appreciated your work. BTW rules ARE posted...
Read moreIf you're planning a birthday party, I can't recommend Scooters more! We've had parties at all the usual local spots: Jungle Rapids, Chuck E Cheese, Monkey Joes, and the First Baptist Church Activity Center. Scooters by far offered the best value for our son's 8th birthday party!
I love that you can rent out the entire place for $150 on a weekday afternoon and it doesn't matter if you have 5 kids or 500, it's still the same price, and it includes skates, ice and coolers (i think inline skates are extra)! We had about 80 people including parents and it was perfect! Everyone had a blast, the kids exhausted themselves, and because you are responsible for the food, we didn't have to be dependent on soda fountains and french fries to feed the little party animals.
It ended up being less expensive than any other party we've ever thrown for our son and by far the most fun. I love that the rule is you can bring anything with wheels... the only exception being that bicycles must have training wheels.
Also- The owner is WONDERFUL. He's truly invested in the business and you can tell by the attention to detail and graciousness with which he conducted business. I would DEFINITELY...
