Wilmington native for over 30 years. They would get a better review but the food isn't what it used to b but it's still really good especially for price. The reason for rest of my stars: if u are gonna eat there , first make sure u either go there by 11 mayb 1115 or start calling it in at 11 or second go there after the lunch rush around 2 if u don't wanna wait an hour for a sandwich. Hell I called the other day 10 mins after 11 and couldn't even get em to answer the phone so I left work to mayb go by there or stop somewhere else. Well I went somewhere else cause I drove by and there were mayb 3 people in the place but they couldnt manage to pick up the phone and take an order? I just kept right on driving.I can't speak much to their evening business cause I'm a grown man that doesn't eat sandwiches for dinner. The other reason for the stars, the atmosphere is pure chaos if u walk in during that lunch rush. Lastly they seem to have a quite a bit of difficulty as far as service goes . The kitchen people seem good but the front of the house seem like they have a hard time keeping up with orders and staying organized enough to keep orders together going out proficiently whether they are busy or not. I know they or no one else cares but it'll b a while before I go back just cause they can't answer the phone when it's not busy. Besides that it's better than jersey mikes especially...
Read more10/16/18 7:00 pm. Good Sub, TERRIBLE Service. And major attitude from the messy dark headed guy, mid 20's, forearm tattoo, working the counter. To be fair, part of this was a management problem as there were only two employees working, 1 in the back on the line, and shaggy up front. During this time, there from 6 to 10 customers up front, either trying to order, or pick up food, the whole 25 minutes I waited on my 1 sub to go. After the 3rd customer ordering to-go behind me received their orders, I asked if maybe mine had been lost in the shuffle. I tried to be polite about it but was told with some attitude that "they had a system" and that I was the customer that did not understand "the system". The guy was also going between handling money and wrapping food orders in back without washing his hands. Again, part of these issues are a management staffing issue as they needed at least 2 more people working this evening. So three things to improve this:
Hire some more, nicer help. Lose the attitude, especially when you're wrong and overheard telling the line cook that you accidentally sent my sub out with the last order. Shaggy needs a haircut...
Read moreFinally got out to Sub Stop (as a Wilmington resident of 5-years living literally 3-miles down the road) to sample what many reviews call the best Subs (Hoagies, Heroes, etc.) in the area. As a New Jersey-native raised in an Italian, Polish, German, Irish and mixed Hispanic ghetto and familiar with traditional NYC, Jersey Shore, Philly and local fist-generation iterations, their #1. Super Sub with Cappicola Ham, Salami, Ham, and Provolone, served on White, Wheat, Wraps, etc. with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and dressed with classic Oil, Red Vinegar, Salt, Pepper and Oregano is well worth the competitive price tag for a foot-long bite of delicious, fresh and filling food! Highly recommended and I'll have to come back for some more of the Sub Stop iterations of other traditional versions. Go online for an extra 5% Off on your first order (before taxes and fees) and save yourself waiting at the counter. Extras include Chips, Fries, Onion Fings, Fried Pickles and Fried Okra among other classics. Their "Special" Sub Burger, Fries and a Soda for $11.50 or so looked awesome as well, and is definitely on the radar for...
