Finally endeavored Chinese Take-Out after 2.5 years in Wilmington at Ming Wok on Carolina Beach Road two months ago and usually hit that location for Pork Fried Rice with a Large Egg Drop Soup 1-2 times a weekly when not traveling. Tonight, I ordered online at 7:23 PM with the usual 30-minute lead-time and stopped at CVS Pharmacy on Carolina Beach Road for an errand on the way. Doors prominently post signs noting "Masks Required" and a large fortress of prexiglass with a small delivery receptacle walls-off the usual staff of a Cashier and 1-2 Cooks from the Public for safety and comfort in the prep/service area. I arrived around 8:15 PM to a masked gentleman waiting to place his order as the Cashier completed a phone order in Spanish. As he was being served, an UNmasked 20-something delivery drover walked past me in the large open restaurant space, handed the Cashier receipts and cash, them received change as she finished the order with the masked gentleman. She proceeded to individually dispense four seperate Take-Out orders (one at a time) through the small plexiglas box, saying, "Thank you," to the young man with each. As he turned to leave with four bags in-hand, a tall, heavy-set White man in shorts and NO-mask walked-in and asked if I was waiting in line. "Yes," I replied, ... "thanks for asking. The last guy just cut ahead." The man walked around me, toward the side of the counter (seemlingly heading for the bathroom) and proceeded to hand the cashier money and paper. She rung them up, headed over to the glass counter and passed two of the remaining three orders one the counter through the small box individually, for him to whisk off with. When it was finallyy MY turn, I gave the usual full phone number for my online order, waited for the Cashier to confirm its on-screen and was handed my order with a, "Thank you!" through the small box. "No problem," I replied, "it was a pleasure to watch all the drivers go AHEAD of me," I said as I stared at the now empty pick-up counter. She laughed politely (likely missing the sarcasm or notnunderstandingnwhat Insaid through the MASK and prexyglass barrier. There are three (3) other Chinese Restaurants within the same 2-mile proximity of my complex. While one order of $10-15, plus 20%+ tip won't make a huge difference, I will at least hope that the other restaurants value the effort one makes to order food ahead, wait and them stand in line at their outlet to pick food-up (or at least empathize with the annoyance that waiting for 6-orders to be verified and dispensed to two (2) seperate drivers as a patron that took the time and effort to order online still waited needlessly). Enjoyed the egg drop soup. I can only hope the other 3 places are a little more consostent on the thickness. Really not worth the thoughtlessness or priority for drovers and poor process in place for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve ordered for years., delivery. My goody. Always been excellent food. Ordered my usual. Shrimp teriyaki. Dbl shrimp. Fried rice. Add broccoli. Egg roll. Worst plate Iāve ever had. No taste. No teriyaki. Small white shrimp. Easy to see it was layered on top in a line. All 15 small ones. Not fully cooked. Broccoli I could have sliced raw. āFried riceā was neon yellow not 1 pea or carrot in it. Egg roll, small and flat. Just cabbage. No veggies. Side order fried shrimp. Tiny shrimp in an inch (felt like),of batter, cooked close to burnt. 6 cups of red sauce to cover terrible food. Minute amount of cabbage below layer of shrimp. 90 % yellow rice in plate. No veggies. Scraped below shrimp for tbl spoon of plain cabbage in entire plate. Never had food this bad from here. ONLY good thing was nice delivery Gentleman and 5 (ordered 6), of the 4 pks of won tons. Was starving & didnāt care about missing one. But food (40.00 dollars of it) was terrible. Ate a little and rest the stray cats might eat or not. Disappointed knowing they always had excellent food. Wonāt waste my money again. Iāll deal with small amts due to food prices but not something not fit to eat. Rare for me to complain but this was so bad, Im sad I wasted my āgoodyā money for something not fit to eat. Most of us are trying to make it thru and hurts our feelings to loose our money we could have bought something with to get excited over something and feel we were done wrong. No longer a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe absolute worse food I have ever eaten. I ordered Hibachi chicken with the noodles. The food was so Bland and tasteless. I purchased a white sauce to put on it and it was just as tasteless as the food was. It is like they dilute there teriyaki sauce and white sauce to the point that it has no taste. I brought the food home planning to re cook it and add flavor to it but must I just couldn't stomach it so I ended up throwing it in the trash. I do not recommend anyone going here unless you just like throwing your money away. The staff was unfriendly and wanted to charge me for a cup for a drink that I purchased and it was in a can, so I wanted ice with a cup and they wanted to charge me $0.35 for the cup. I have no interest in going back to a place that charges for petty things such as cups and white sauce and things that should already come with my meal. The owner really needs to use pure ingredients for cooking their food. Do not add water to dilute your seasonings such as Teriyaki and soy sauce at etc. Even a microwave dinner would have been a thousand times better...
