I took my son to The Corner in Wilson, NC to celebrate his birthday on a Friday night, and we were both completely blown away. From start to finish, it was five-star treatment all the way — truly one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time, anywhere.
We started with an appetizer that set the tone immediately — tender pork belly served with a Brussels sprout slaw and a peach marinade, plus what tasted like either marinated or sun-dried tomatoes. It was such an elevated, unexpected dish and absolutely delicious. Then came the warm cornbread and butter, a thoughtful touch you rarely see anymore. It was soft, flavorful, and just the right start before our entrées.
I had the filet cooked medium rare, and I genuinely can’t stop thinking about it. I’ve dined all over the world — Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, Canada — and this steak reminded me of something I’d expect at a high-end spot like STK. Melt-in-your-mouth tender, perfectly seasoned, and cooked with precision. My son ordered the steakhouse burger, medium, and it was just as flawless — juicy and full of flavor.
I also tried a guava mojito, which I’ve never had before — and it was incredible. Refreshing, not too sweet, and definitely strong in the best way.
We had booth seating, and I loved how the layout still felt social and community-driven. We chatted with the folks sitting beside us, who were also having a fantastic time. And one of the best parts? The open kitchen is right in front of you, so you can actually watch your food being prepared. It was beautiful to see how much care and attention the chefs put into every single plate.
From the hostess to the server to the chef, everyone was warm, welcoming, and professional. We made reservations and were seated right on time — everything ran smoothly and felt incredibly intentional.
The entire experience was like something out of a much bigger city — definitely not what you’d expect to find tucked into downtown Wilson, but such a gift to have here. We’ll absolutely be back. I hope this place thrives because it deserves all the...
Read moreMy husband and I enjoyed dinner on a Friday evening. We had a reservation and would recommend you do so. We were seated immediately and there was a carafe of chilled water and glasses for our use. Multiple staff stopped at our to inquire how things were. Bread was brought promptly and orders taken as soon as we were ready. We wanted to try multiple things so shared a number of dishes. We started with the wedge salad. It was good but too much dressing for us. In future we will ask for dressing on the side. We also had the Kentucky fried mushrooms. Very light breading and not greasy at all. Delicious! Our main meal was the Cajun salmon with rice and asparagus with honey butter. The rice was delicious mixed with the honey butter. For dessert we had the Blueberry flapjack cake and red velvet cake with a Blackberry bourbon smash. All I can say is yum! The only problem is that we were so full. There is street parking as well as a public lot nearby. Another thing we appreciated is that the restaurant is not noisy. We definitely recommend you visit for a wonderful...
Read moreStart to finish, one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Reservation process was simple. The atmosphere is quiet, nice, and simple. The food is outstanding. The servers are attentive, and balanced on when they check in with you. The service is perfectly timed, from when your drinks show up, to the delivery if small plates, and the main course. The wait between each moment of the meal is exactly what it should be. You are waiting for the next course to arrive wondering where it is, and it isn't showing up while you are half way through the previous dish. They have it down to a science here and it shows. The process they use for taking the order, communicating to the cook, to cooking the food, plating it , and delivery to your table is so efficient. The dessert options are wonderful and tasty as well. We were here for our 10 year wedding anniversary. When we left, we were already planning our next visit. Unfortunately, you can not book a reservation out more than 6-8 weeks it appears. We will be back, and have decided that this is our new #1 for...
