If you asked me when I was a young teenager if I would consider veiling, I would have said I wouldn't because I unfortunately thought it was some old-fashioned practice. If you were to ask me now as an adult whether I would wear a veil to Mass, I would give a confident, affirmative answer. The reason I veil is because veiling reminds me of the image of Christ being a groom and the Church being the bride and that attests to how much He loves us.
After noticing some women in my parish wearing veils, asking around on a couple online clubs I'm part of, and doing a little bit of research, I decided to start veiling. A few people I asked recommended Veils By Lily and I'm so glad I took their advice! I ordered a white starter veil, which arrived just in time for me to wear for the first time on All Saints Day, 2019. Not long after, I got the white satin veil pouch to keep the veil nice. They're both holding up well after a little more than five years of veiling.
I love Veils By Lily's products so much I eventually got the silver starter veil and a pouch for a wedding I was invited to last summer. One of my younger sisters also was interested in veiling and she picked the mini starter veil with snaps in dusty rose with a pink pouch. I liked hers so much I wanted to get the small starter veil with ties, but I wanted it with snaps instead of ties. After filling out the "Contact Us" form, I received a prompt response with the information I needed (what information they needed, how to order, and the cost to customize it). I ended up ordering a custom small starter veil in sage green and a dark green pouch. I also just received the Chinese Blossom veil in aquamarine and a light blue pouch for my older brother's wedding in May this year and I am in love with the colors. The veil and the bag are so pretty! I can't get over how beautiful they look. I ordered the veil with a sewn-in mini comb snap and I wish I got this for my starter veils! They stay on my head well enough, but I sometimes find myself adjusting them every once in a while. The snap adds some security to ensure my veil doesn't fall off.
Other that loving their products, I always receive my veils in a timely manner. Veils By Lily always gives an estimate for when the veil will show up and they always show up right when they say it will. I love the material and all of the options with the designs and colors. They're very feminine and I think the quality matches the price. Though many of the veils have a fancy design, I think it adds a nice touch because I want to wear the very best veils for Christ whenever I attend Mass. I recommend Veils By Lily to any woman who is interested in veiling. I'd also give them more stars and thumbs up, but I'm only limited to five stars...
Read moreI ordered a veil that never arrived in the mail, they asked me to let them know if after time I didn't receive it they would resend another, which was nice. To be fair to them since it wasn't their fault, I ordered the exact veil again and did receive it. However, when I opened it I was disappointed in the quality and the length as I was giving as a gift. There return policy is VERY short in order to get your money back; if not returned in 14 days you must get a store credit. Well, I returned it within fourteen days and mentioned that I never received the original order. . . guess what I got? A monetary refund on the return and a store credit on the order I never received. Since I never received it how could I return it in 14 days to get my money back? While i understand this is a small business this practice seems ridiculous particulary the type of organization this is. The fair thing would have been to give me all my money back as a show of good faith that your product did not come to me in the first place and that I did return the second item (minus needing some shipping to be paid) in the needed return window. I will never use the store credit so I am out my money for the order I...
Read moreGoing to a store for a church veil versus buying online means you can try them on before buying. This is more helpful than I expected. I bought items seen online that I didn't expect I'd like in person. Then, items I liked online I did not like in person. It was nice having a second opinion about which veils would be a good choice for me and my wiggly daughter. It was fun too! It was fun to try on different lengths, shapes, colors, and designs. My young daughter also enjoyed it. It was a very feminine activity to participate in. I will happily return to buy more!
I do wish they had more things to buy than just veils. More feminine items for dressing at Mass and for young girls. Maybe things like shawls, scarfs, cover ups for sleeveless dresses with their pretty materials and embroidery work. Would be helpful to brides looking for pretty items to help...
