This may be long. In June 2021, I ordered a hybrid Maverick as soon as Ford opened the ordering banks on their website. You had to order it from the website and Ford would then assign you a dealer, which was Texas Country Ford. I went in and made by deal for almost $3000 under msrp (no one at that time had any idea how popular and hard to get this truck would become). I met and shook hands with the salesman, credit manager and Sales Manager. Everyone was happy and pleased.
As time went on I would check with them for a status report but it was always the same - no telling when the truck would come in. I got tired of waiting and bought a 2022 Ridgeline. If the Maverick ever came in I would refuse it, however, the truck soon became so popular that I could flip it and make over $5000 without doing a thing but driving it from the dealership to my house. 16 months later I got a call - the Maverick is in! I went down to buy it but the salesman was no longer there. The credit manager wasn't either. Nor was the sales manager. Everyone I dealt with was gone. So I went in to talk to the new sales manager who told me he would not honor the price I had originally received and he had to sell it at msrp or nothing. I could not believe it. I showed him the paper they sent me with all the figures and he said it makes no difference. Obviously, he knew if I walked away he could take possession and mark it up to almost anything he wanted and it would sell.
I asked him does that mean that a deal I make with you is not valid if you are replaced? He said that is up to the new manager. I was livid that after 16 months that they sprung this on me on the day I went to pick up the truck. He did say that if Ford reimburses the dealer on the difference (which they said they should do), he would send me the check. I figured I could still make a lot of money on a flip so I agreed and bought the truck for msrp. As I drove the Maverick for a few weeks I found it very enjoyable and decided not to sell it after all. And sure enough, a few weeks later I got the check in the mail. They kept their word.
Bottom line is I would recommend their service department highly but I would not buy a car from them if it had to be ordered because of their crazy policy of not honoring a former salesman's deal, even if you have all the paper work to show them. But if the car you want is on the lot, I see no problem in buying that - just be sure not to order one and expect the price when you pick it up to be the same as your...
Read moreMy experience with Texas Country Ford was fantastic. Bryant and his team were phenomenal and made me feel very comfortable doing business with them. He was the only one to mention specials going on for the F150’s out of all the dealerships I talked to. I probably would have bought a 250 instead by Bryant’s knowledge of the market and willingness to share information that benefitted me was a driving factor in my decision. He didn’t just want to sell me the highest price truck he had. He wanted me to make an educated decision with all of the information available. . It was really nice going to a dealership and not feeling like you had to go to war & fight over every penny of the asking price. In fact, Bryant quoted me a number and was a dollar off. He pulled a dollar out of his wallet and gave it to me. They are a family run business and that means something in 2023! His team was great too. Jennifer walked me through the options to get the best rate and made sure I understood everything I was signing for. They had all the paperwork ready for me as soon as I walked in the door. I was in an out in less than 30 minutes. I felt bad making them stay late the day before Thanksgiving but they did it with a smile on their face. Most importantly and I am absolutely loving my new truck. Will definitely be buying from Bryant and Texas Country Ford moving forward. Some of the most fair and honest people you’ll...
