Hope Grill & Cafe — Restaurant in Winnsboro

Since moving to Winnsboro, we began going before Hope switched from Richies. Small town diner atmosphere, food pretty good ( most times). Note: only once did we get a server that wasn’t new and though they were always trying hard, they still were struggling. Mind you, we sometimes ate there multiple times a week for one particular dish. Then, About a month and a half ago, they switched how they cooked and served our favorite shrimp dish, so we had to ask every time very specifically how to cook this dish. No problem right ? Wrong! They’ll still cook it incorrectly ( garlic butter vs butter) and are missing items like No Salsa with the Tortilla chips. We have called and very politely explained issues to the owner. She asked we only speak to her. So once again we ordered chips and salsa with our favorite dish to be picked up and brought to my work… but when We got it ( Togo ordered delivered to my work ) no salsa. When We called to speak to the owner, she replied “ no salsa isn’t an issue” When I explained it was an issue to be, I was told I wasn’t welcome back in her restaurant ever again . What? I support local businesses but money isn’t growing on trees. I expect what I order and pay for. If an owner can’t handle something simple like this, I question why anyone would want to go there. Worst service an treatment ever on Mother's Day. Didn't bring chips until I asked, I was told I wouId be charged 2.99 for a roll while waiting on my friend. Then waitres rolled her eyes when we were cold, asked if she could turn off fan. Swept floor while we were eating, then mgr. Apologized then started sweeping right beside our table again.Table beside us also unhappy with response of waitress. They put us out for complaining, actually lied an stated that I complained every time I was in there. I've only complained once in a year when my food was overcooked. Very dry. I was mortified an embarrassed I invited a friend from work, he also works as a secret shopper. The owner obviously only caters an cares about the regular crowd. I work in town but will Never go there again. We asked for containers to go, only half finished our meal. They called cops cause we didn't leave fast enough. I have family in Winnsboro and we got hungry so we ventured out to try out one of the local places. They said it was a good place to have a meal, and they had just about anything you could want. They sure did have a selection. They have a tri-fold menu that is double sided. They have everything from Tacos and burritos, to Burgers and steaks. They even have fried catfish.
