I will not be recommending this establishment. I was excited to peruse the wonderful selection of antiques and to support local business, but was met with one of the worst customer services experiences I have ever had.
My father, mother, and I were all searching for various items and we had success. My father, a US Army veteran, was carrying an antique when it fell apart in his hands---and he almost tripped down the stairs in the process. The woman working, did inquire if we were alright, and quickly began saying that everything was fixable.
We continued looking for items and when I approached the cash register with a few things, she asked, "What do you plan to do about the set?" to which I responded, that it would most likely be purchased by my parents, but I did not know.
As we were wrapping up our visit, I came around the corner to hear the woman screaming at my father. My parents, not knowing that items in the shop were sold by individual vendors, had asked for a discount on the item that had broken. Instead of calmly explaining this, she began arguing with my father and demanding full price.
I completely understand that customer service is a challenging job. What I don't understand is why someone would speak to, not only Wolfeboro locals, but senior citizens and veterans, in the manner in which they were spoken. There was a better way to handle this situation. I'm not asking for money back, or saying that my parents overpaid for their items.
