We make a reservation for 6:30 p.m. for 8 ppl. When I arrived, there were a large crowd waiting for takeout. When I reach the receptionist, it's 6:40pm. And I was greeted with "I thought you are not coming, I am going to give your table to another party, we are very busy tonight. Are your party or here yet?". Really? No call to confirm that we are not coming? That sets me in the wrong mood. The food is pretty standard for a Japanese restaurant fare opened by mandarin speaking folks. I cannot believe people pay that much for a hibachi that is not served right in front of you, so we did not order that. I have to mention that the sushi roll is not impressive, they are loose when I pick them up, I guess the sushi chef was tired. I still give a 18% for the tips since our server was nice.

Delightful restaurant serving a strange variety of Asian cuisine. I've never been to a Japanese restaurant that had pad Thai so of course I had to try it 😆 Vegetable pad thai: Yummy, but don't expect authentic Thai flavor. On the same level as mall food court Thai fare. Generous portion that included a miso soup and salad. Miso soup is definitely watery and not very miso tasting but I expected that. Shrimp yakisoba with udon noodle: Yummy mall food court-level Japanese noodles. Generous portion as well that came with miso soup and salad. Shrimp unfortunately was extremely overcooked and tough 😬 Service was excellent! Attentive staff, checked in frequently, cleared dishes quickly, friendly, and food came out very fast.

Met my friend for dinner here on a whim. I drove by it a few times on my way to Wolfeboro. The bar is very small and next to a fish tank that is too small for the huge fish swimming in it. I found this very distracting and sad. We started with gyoza (pork dumplings). They were not very hot and just ok. Then we got 3 of the Chefs Specialty sushi rolls to split, and I just didn't care for any of them. They were all a bit fishy to me, but my friend enjoyed them.

I certainly would not have thought that such high quality sushi/sashimi would be available this far from the ocean in the mountains of New Hampshire... but here it is! If you like traditional style sushi, you can get generous servings of top quality fresh tuna, yellowtail, and all of your favorites. And for more adventurous diners, the ubiquitous California roll is succulent, fresh and tasty, along with about a dozen other inventive concoctions of delicious rolls made of raw and cooked fish and vegetarian selections. I haven't tried it, but I saw fellow diners happily digging-in to hibachi (grilled) steak and seafood. Other than traditional Japanese hotpot fare, such as one of my favorites, yosinabe, there are Thai and Chinese dishes. My partner and I have enjoyed every one of our four visits while in Wolfeboro this summer, and I highly...

Great food but I'm HIGHLY against irresponsible fish keeping and they have a large fish tank right in the middle of the restaurant with fish that will not survive for very long together and will quickly outgrow the tank. When asked what their long-term plan was for the fish they said, "bigger tank" and showed no interest in learning about their requirements. I'm disappointed that they put so much effort into renovating the location and creating a name for themselves but then lack empathy and knowledge for the animals on display. FISH ARE MORE THAN JUST DECORATIONS!

edit Some of this fish are gone, not sure if they died or got rehomed. At least now I can go in there and not be triggered by the poor tank conditions. Changed my rating from 3 to 4 stars because it truly is a great...
