Thyme In the Garden — Local services in Woodfin

I had a peculiar experience at this shop. I came there today to ask about peonies and the lady answered my question, bobbed hair and glasses, however her demeanor seemed very off put. She answered my question but seemed like she was uncomfortable. I live about a mile from this shop and always pass it so decided while in I would look at the flowers so I was in. While browsing I was asked if I needed help by a very polite and helpful lady with long dark hair. She was very nice and helpful. I went back to the area where my car was and noticed more flowers in the front of the shop and was looking at those. I then got in my car and the First Lady came oddly out of the shop and again in a very odd demeanor glared at me. She didn’t smile didn’t wave, just kind of glared again with the same off put demeanor and watched me the whole time I put my key in the ignition took off my mask and backed out of the space. When I got home I looked through reviews to see if anyone else had a similar experience and it doesn’t seem so. I was just very disappointed as the shop is lovely and so are the flowers. I really feel like I was not welcome either because I was either 1. A male unaccompanied by a female at a flower shop. Or 2. I was wearing a T-shirt and shorts which I feel is perfectly appropriate for someone WORKING IN THE YARD. It’s a shame this day in age those type of things are still happening. Love this garden center and nursery 💗 I often use their garden for inspiration for my own planning. In the back you walk over a wooden bridge that allows you to cross the very vocal creek, and from there you are in a magical garden. The greenhouse is next to the garden with lots of beautiful local and rare plants. Inside they have fairy garden supplies along with gardening pots and other items. I love their selection of beautiful potters.

Everyone is super nice and knowledgeable. I once brought in a baby cactus clipping and the nice woman at the register potted it for me and taught me how to properly care for it. She always offers great tips at checkout no matter what I buy.

Outstanding service! I am a gardening novice, and Laura and Sarah were so generous with their knowledge and time! Laura helped me to select the right plants for my porch-rail boxes and my walkway, and she suggested how to arrange them for best effect. She took into account what sun exposure they would receive, how large the boxes are; she also explained how to plant them and exactly when to refresh these spring plantings with summer flowers. Sarah then explained which potting soil and fertilizer would be best and even put everything in my car for me.
