40 West Shopping Center — Local services in Woodlawn

I come all the way from Moravia and Sinclair just to shop at H Mart. If you're like me and you've recently gone vegan or trying to do an alkaline diet H Mart is the place to go. They have a large selection of fruits and vegetables that most neighborhood grocery stores don't have. For instance, bitter melon, fresh tumeric, jack fruit, yellow dragon fruit, dandelion greens, burro bananas and more. If you're a seafood lover and want really fresh seafood or a better selection try H Mart. For those who still enjoy cooking their own crabs try H Mart. Before I went completely vegan this year I was able to purchase about 24-26 nice decent size crabs for a little over $30. There are some things they don't carry that you regular market will but if you're looking for more international selections give them a try. I go for Hmart n thee right next door to that is the Korean food store with a cook all the food and then in the basement they have different things that you can obtain and stuff then we haven't really been down there to look but we will go the next time we up there I really want today for the get the pig's feet how they cut it up put it on the plate for you and the sausage but they wasn't serving that today so I got a seafood pancake and fish and soup and everything and my daughter's they got fish different kind of soups and stuff I love Korean food I'll look at Mommy on on YouTube all the time and I'll be wanting to taste it but I really really want to eat the seafood that I see on mommy's station...

Closer to a 3.5 Overall it is a good shopping center with some good food options but the H-mart is the only reason I go. The parking lot design is a mess (seems to be common for shopping centers) but what really brought down the rating for me was the "night life." There was a lot of groups smoking (not just cigarettes by the smell) and I noticed a fully geared up (bulletproof vest and all) police officer pacing around. I'm not from the area and this made me quite uneasy. It also shows that the area has potentially violent crime problems. Cops don't make me feel safe, especially when they look at everyone like a...
