My first visit to this salon and I will not be returning. On the positive side, the salon is very nice and the employees are nice. My major complaint is that it was $300 for a cut, color, and highlights...$14.00 of that cost was product... and that was without a blow dry and style which I chose not to do since Lindsay said "Dora" does not recommend a blow dry due to COVID 19 issues. Lindsay was very pleasant and worked hard to do a good job, but, she is a very new stylist and there were a few issues like she didnt get my toner rinsed out properly and the back of my shirt was pretty wet after she tried to rinse my toner out, for the second time, and, I was at the salon for 3 1/2 hours. For some reason, my hair felt very dry and coarse after I left the salon, but, was better after I washed it at home, so, maybe, it still wasn't rinsed out well. I had asked the price before I went in and was told $180 if I did a full highlight and color and cut, but, was not told that there would be additional costs...plus $40 for toner, plus $45 for 3 bowls of color....I was mostly concerned with covering the grey and a haircut. To make matters worst, when I voiced my complaints to Alicia, the owner, several days later, she argued that I had any valid complaints and defended their pricing and told me that the pricing would have been more like $395 if I would have had her do my hair since Lindsay is only a Stylist 1. So, apparently, I got a deal. I have my hair done every 5-6 weeks and have hair a few inches below my chin for length. Overall, I dont like surprises with additional charges that were not mentioned and I am not going to pay that kind of money, especially, for a stylist that is, maybe, 20 years old and...
Read moreHad the most bizarre consultation with Alicia I've ever had with an owner and based on that would never get my hair done at this salon. I have never felt this uncomfortable at any salon and I have been to some of the best in LA. As a model I am very particular, like most women, regarding their hair, and as such, I left feeling like my hair would not turn out in any way beautiful. Her suggestions were ridiculous.
On top of that, she was very argumentative with me and I felt like she was challenging me on everything I said. The conversation seemed to go around in circles, which made no sense, and on top of that she contradicted herself to the point that I had no idea if she even heard what I was saying. At one point she was looking at my eyes and telling me she would match my color to my pupils. What?? That makes absolutely no sense! Then she proceeded to spray something in her mouth to prove it wasn't toxic....Ah, no thanks you are not working on my hair.
In addition, she was rude to her other employees and I can't stand when someone does that in front of me. It makes for a very uncomfortable environment...and her staff were quite nice.
I have been in the chairs of some of the best stylists and this was in no way a professional environment! The prices were ridiculous and after re-arranging my schedule twice, I still had to sit in my car for over 20 minutes because apparently she wasn't ready! If you are higher than the best salons in LA, there's a problem! I'm sorry, but I know things are tight because you are not busy due to COVID, but I'm not here to pay for everyone else!
I'll pass! In fact, I have already found another amazing salon where my needs are met in a professional...
Read moreAlicia and her team at Ravissante are the best! I have been a client of Alicia's for the better part of 15 years, the longest I have stayed with any stylist. I've followed her from Castle Rock to Colorado Springs to Monument, and I'm so happy to see her with her own salon. She is an artisan in bringing my ideas into reality and isn't afraid to explain what will or won't work for my hair's texture, color, face shape, etc. Alicia's strongest talent is color/highlights. As a client in her early 60s, I want to maintain my natural transition to grey without looking "old" or trying too hard to look 40 again. Alicia has done an excellent job applying just the right amount of highlights in the perfect shade to blend naturally with my slowly-greying hair. The color is never harsh or washed-out, blends well, looks great for my skin tone, and stays vibrant for several months. The product line carried in the salon is excellent but I also rotate with another line. She has never pressured me to purchase any items, but the products are excellent for your hair. The atmosphere of the salon is pleasant and relaxing. I definitely recommend Ravissante...
