This was my 2nd time in this store and both times NOT ONE employee even said hello. Not one. I thought this time would be different. Boy was I mistaken. I believe there were at least four employees there(?) (maybe more) and they acted as if I were a ghost.
Not a hello. Not a "welcome in." Not even a; "if you need something, let us know." I stood there eye balling the old lunchboxes for at least ten minutes and all the employees were putting up merchandise around me....nothing. No one said a word to me. I actually came back to get the old Dukes if Hazzard lunchbox, but I was so taken aback by their rudeness, I left. Not even the tattooed bald guy employee, who was outside smoking his e-cigarette said anything to me when I passed him. He just looked at me as if I pooped his Cheerios.
There are plenty of other better spots in the Metro area. Oh...and they are very proud of their prices. I'll stick with ebay.
12/20/24 My response to the Owner's response:
You made the following statement: "We appreciate the review, nonetheless, as we cannot please everyone."
Just when I thought you got the point of my review, you said that. It's so simple. As a customer, I require NOTHING special or extra. The customer is not always right, especially these days. I enjoy being able to look around at my own pace and not be bombarded every few minutes by employees and I know I'm not in the minority here.
HOWEVER, (as I beat this horse) NO ONE said a word, both times I visited. Combine that with the pricing (*see side note below) and you can give the general public the perception that you really don't need them. I'm pretty sure I am not the first to experience this at your store. I would be willing to place a bet on that. I'm just the first to have "whined" about it.
I seriously would've bought that DoH Lunchbox if someone had just said ... need help, let me know. Simple.
*I understand your more than valid point about how you price your merchandise and I do not disagree with what you said. I get it....
Read moreAmazing place I’ve made a few long trips to this location and none of them disappointments! Even if you don’t buy anything it’s like stepping into a time machine and takes you back to your childhood no matter your age. The prices are more than fair far better than anything you can find online and and it’s a father son business! And these guys are passionate about what they have and not greedy they even offered to let me place some of my artwork in their shop commission free (I wouldn’t because these guys are so genuinely good they’d deserve something) my entire collection was taken from me and I had lost my passion for it one visit here reignited it and let me know that starting over wasn’t gonna be as hard as I had I thought and it’s all thanks to great prices and selections and most of all genuinely good people like these two! It’s like a convention and trade show all in one location I’ll never shop anywhere without checking here first because I know the price and the story behind the item is worth...

I was impressed, not only by the breadth of their inventory, but how well organized it was. Every item, both vintage and new, has its place and feels expertly curated. The owner and staff clearly hold both respect and love for the hobby.
It’s a museum celebrating our collective childhoods, and for very fair and honest prices, you can take home the memories. I truly think I’ve found a new collecting haunt.
Happily walked out with a Jack Kirby Superman from the DC Direct “New Gods” line (circa. 2008/09).
If you’re a collector, a kid at heart, or just curious, take a look at 2nd Chance Toys and...
