Every so often you come across a place that is unexpected and truly special, one deserves taking the time to leave the review that is so incredibly deserved and this is one of them. Karl Vivier is truly passionate about what he does and it shows. On several occasions we've stopped in and we're rewarded with top level chocolate, macaroons and pastries. My girlfriend absolutely loves almond croissants and has a very refined pallette, the look of sheer delight and wonder on her face said everything that needed to be said. However, she did eventually ended up saying, "it's perfect!" She also got her birthday cake their last year, Gâteau Basque, to be precise, and again her and her family were absolutely left without words, just smiles and delight. There was a snafu because I originally ordered through GrubHub and they had asked GrubHub to take them off their service (too expensive!) So my order got cancelled, but they gave me a phone call and apologized and said they still had ordering through Doordash and let me know one of the items I had ordered was out of stock. I was getting down to the wire on ordering from them because it was the end of the day.

So I remade my order on DoorDash, arrived quickly, and everything is amazing. Despite it being end of day and having an issue with the first order, they were able to get my order ready in beautiful boxes, with a thank you note, and extra treat!

A Cacao Affair makes awesome pastries! When we were planning our twin daughters' graduation party, they both said they wanted dessert from Cacao Affair. We ordered a wide selection of Karl's mini-tarts, and also added on a dozen chocolate graduation caps (with cheesecake filling underlying). First, they all looked perfect, Karl and his team are really talented pastry professionals. They could've been used for a photo shoot in a food magazine. But eating one of these desserts was even better! Everyone at the party loved the tarts and kept asking where we got them from. Even the restaurant staff came over after trying a couple and asked where we got them from. They loved them, too! Thank you...
