I am so thankful for the entire staff at this wonderful place, they gave me something I didn't think I would have on my wedding day and that is confidence... and a perfect dress of course ♥️ Whether you've been dress shopping or haven't started please give this shop a try! Go in with an open mind and trust them because they know what they're doing.

A formal occasion is absolutely amazing! I had visited one other bridal boutique that day before coming here and I had felt so defeated and down after leaving the first appointment that I wasnt super excited to continue dress shopping. I did hold out hope because while going through my nightmare appointment the staff at formal occasion sent me a text of how excited they were to meet me and a picture of the space they had set up for me and my family ♥️ Once arriving I was greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our space. The vibe in the store is very comfortable and inviting. Nothing ever felt rushed. I was asked many questions (I believe by Katie) and she asked all the right questions about what styles I like, the fit, how I want to feel, and all that good stuff. She showed me to their sale area and said I could pick out any in that room I liked or wanted to try on so I picked two then she said she would be right back. A few minutes later I see her and Pat pulling out some of the most gorgeous dresses I had ever seen, they all exceeded my expectations. My biggest worry was that they wouldn't fit me or they would be way out of my price range (they looked very expensive). Katie must have a magic eye because every dress I tried on fit perfectly, I didnt feel self conscious at all and most of all I felt beautiful. Even better all the dresses I tried on were well within my budget. The last dress I tried on checked off every single box for how I dreamed of my dress to look and I truly believe it was fate that they had just gotten this dress in the store and it fit me perfectly. Needless to say I bought the dress that day and I couldn't be happier. Truly one of the best experiences I have ever had and it feels so good to walk into a place where the people can make you feel so secure and truly listen to your needs and wants to help you find the dress of your dreams. I can’t even begin to tell you what a beautiful experience it was to find my dream gown at A Formal Occasion.  Lucinda is nothing short of a fairy Godmother and her hubby Pat is a wonderful compliment to her genuine positivity.  When I tell you I was having a major bridal crisis before shopping there – I’m not exaggerating.  I had been shopping for a gown since October 2022.  I already had a gown I’d purchased elsewhere which would “do”, but was really just a let-down and sad compromise.  I literally tried on gowns from everywhere – mail order, high end bridal shops, discount bridal shops, alternative shops, bridal warehouses – it was ALL exhausting and disappointing.

A Formal Occasion was my last effort before settling for mediocre for a wedding date so close ordering was no longer even a possibility.  From the first conversation I had with Lucinda after making my appointment online, I knew shopping with her was going to be something special.  Her enthusiasm is authentic – excitable, yet comforting and confident at the same time.  Both she and Pat go out of their way to roll out the red carpet and make finding your gown the wonderful memory it should be.  Lucinda picked about 8 gowns from which I could choose – all VERY different from anything I’d seen at all the other places I’d checked and all beautifully unique.  From the moment I saw the gown to the moment I stepped into my gown I just knew it was going to be nothing short of magical – just like my entire experience at A Formal Occasion.

I cannot recommend highly enough that you book your appointment and allow Lucinda to work her magic on finding your own perfect gown.  Truly – a top notch experience from start to finish.  You get to walk away happy with the entire experience and fully satisfied you’ve found a gown that’s uniquely...

I recently visited A Formal Occasion in the hopes of finding my dream wedding dress, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. I even told myself that morning that I wouldn’t “say yes”, especially since it was my first day looking. When walking into the shop, I already knew it was going to be special because there was such a cute personalized chalkboard with my name on before we even walked in the door! Lucinda is the most incredible woman, especially when it comes to transforming what could be a daunting, overwhelming experience into something magical. I am definitely not the bride who is going to be overly emotional about dress shopping, but working with Lucinda helped me understand how significant this process can be; when she started talking about how it’s not what the dress looks like but how it makes you feel and tearing up because she cares so much, I joined her in shedding a few tears! Pat was also a lovely addition to the team; he makes you feel right at home and even offered to clean my ring while we waited for the first round of dresses to be selected. The quality of the dresses was outstanding, and the prices were very reasonable considering the high level of service and quality of the products. Overall, I would highly recommend A Formal Occasion to anyone looking for not just another wedding dress shop.
