Speaking of salad, they sell fresh packaged hydroponic salad from Dayton, Va, one stop shopping. Spiced peaches from the past bottled in glass, honey, Yogi Teas, baked breads, Edgewood Farms eggs, note sold under another name in C’Ville at Whole Foods. Note many of Mowery’s items have seen at specialty stores in C’Ville for twice the monetary cost than what Mowery’s sells for. Apples? The best, and they even allow you to purchase blemish apples for a price you come away feeling you ‘stole’ them. I have been a longtime customer of Mowery's and think they have good quality products, but recently had a poor experience as two workers made rude comments about me gently touching produce to check ripeness. As I understand it, this is a normal practice when shopping for fruits and vegetables, but if it is not appreciated at this location, I think the appropriate solution is to politely ask the customer to refrain from handling the produce rather than making loud, passive-aggressive comments behind their back. This left a bad taste in my mouth and I am quite disappointed at this behavior from a place I have liked...

Places like this are truly appreciated. Roadside farmers market with old school customer care. Right in front of farm, clean with vast variety of goods from soaps, produce, fresh made tonics and ferments. At the cash register there was this homemade fruit pies.
