We reserved a table for 5 to have lunch with my grandmother for Mother’s Day at the Garden Cafe. We waited specifically to have lunch here with her when they were open because typically it’s a wonderful place and is her favorite place to eat. We arrived and we sat at a table inside with a reserved sign, we thought it was ours because we didn’t see any listed anywhere else. No one said anything to us that it wasn’t ours. The worker brought us out our food while we were sitting at the table and everything, no one said anything that it wasn’t our table. Halfway through our meal a worker comes and tells us to hurry up because they have a reservation for a larger party than 5 in a half hour. We told her we had a reservation and that we thought that was our table. She said no that our reservation was somewhere else. So we packed up our food and went to look for our reserved table. We couldn’t find it, my grandmother ended up asking where we were supposed to go since that wasn’t made clear. In the meantime, my mother picked a table outside. Then here comes the lady again telling us that wasn’t our intended table again and pointed down the walkway. Then said never mind this was ok, she guessed. My mom is handicapped and was carrying an infant and she cannot carry him very far because she gets so weak from her medical condition. So, she said, irritated “please just tell us where to go because I need to sit down now!” The worker says rudely, “oh wow, sit sit!” My mom asked if there some kind of problem with us. The lady goes this is why we aren’t doing reservations anymore after July. My moms like why is that our fault I just need to know where to go and you have nothing on the tables listed with names for reservations so we didn’t know we were supposed to be elsewhere. The lady says next time you need to ask and went on her way. By then we were all upset and my 3 year old daughter threw a huge tantrum from having to transition in the middle of eating without any warning. She has special needs and struggles with transitions. Then she wouldn’t eat and screamed to the top of her lungs for about half an hour. Then we saw the other party arrive who also had a reservation a half an hour after we were told to move. They were literally also a party of 5, which was the exact same size party as us. The worker had told us to move because apparently their party was larger to be accommodated at that table. That was apparently a lie. We’ve never had an experience like this here before and it’s very disappointing. We will not...
Read moreI've made a decision to start eating healthy & avoiding salt as much as possible! That's kinda hard to do the days! So I did a search for a greens bowl (😂) & found out about this place searching Google! It's not just a cafe! Kinda like a plant nursery, garden fresh menu with many treats that appear to be fresh & hand made! They also have alot of beverages, Iykyk, & Homemade raspberry lemonade! We got our bowls & everything was really fresh & tasty! The employees were very nice & seemed to enjoy working here! (IK! Unusual for 2025!) Place was well stocked with a variety of plants, vases & unusual gifts or trinkets! After we were finished, I went to ask who the mgr was & it was a very nice & happy lady names Ashley! I told her I was gonna leave a review so here's my 1st take. PROS 1-Food Excellent! Tea & lemonade Excellent! 2-Friendly Atmosphere, Service & caring people! (Another unusual trait for 2025!) 3- Cleanlyness! Just before lunch everything appears to be fresh & ready for the lunch rush! (I KNOW A FEW PEOPLE HAD TO GET UP EARLY FOR THE PREP-WORK! I USED TO BE A PRODUCE MGR SO I KNOW! 😎👌) 4-YES! I WILL EAT HERE AGAIN! CONS 1-The entrance is a little confusing & where to find the ordering line & menu is a little hard to find. You have to walk through & to the right! 2-I know a lot of people like brew but I quit 40+ years ago & I try to avoid it at all costs! Best thing I did since I was born again! 3- since I was getting kinda hot today & it looks like a well presented greenhouse, I started to look for the A/C but high above the cafe' Tables was the fans but none were turned on yet. So my only beef was really maybe the need for cooling. But then again, they do have tables in the sidewalk cafe area where you can plopper down outta the Sun! OVERALL GR8 EXPERIENCE THAT I WOULD RATE A MUST TRY & REASONABLY PRICED! THANKS ASHLEY! MY WIFE & I LOVED YOUR PLACE! KEEP UP THE GOOD...
Read moreMy husband and I are on vacation this week visiting the historic towns of the Shenandoah Valley. Having gone to a few boutiques and small shops along the historic Route 11, one of the local shop owners recommended this cafe. What a wonderful hidden gem this place is!! There are tables throughout the nursery which gives the most quaint atmosphere. The food was delicious and fresh. I chose the homemade blueberry lemonade and it was perfect for this hot day. The nursery was beautifully decorated and I’m told Christmas time is even more amazing. If you are nearby it is well worth the trip, you will not be...
