Keep looking. This place is an absolutely NOT. LOUD * Some very disrespectful neighbors * Expensive * Not built well / Corners cut * Filthy * Beggars in the parking lot * Drivers cut through the parking lot from Church Street VERY fast, including the towing company, and I have almost been hit at least 3 times while backing out of a parking spot by vehicles (including the tow truck) tearing through the parking lot when using the lot and alley as an easement *
Not worth the price. The rent is expensive, and there is an additional "garbage" fee. The owner has no skin in the game. The tenants pay everything. We pay electric, gas (the bill comes from the management office, so they can stick us with heating the common areas), and water. They CHARGE US A FEE to pay rent.
I take umbrage with the fact that I had to pay first month's rent with a CERTIFIED CHECK. Not a money order, a CERTIFIED CHECK. I knew I was dealing with charlatans then. Also, they require a BOND instead of a security deposit. I am someone who ALWAYS gets their security deposit back, so paying a bond is a LOSS. Especially considering they took my CERTIFIED CHECK, made me pay a bond, then left me with a FILTHY apartment.
This place is not upscale. Please, do not be fooled. The exterior is brick, but look closely inside. They don't clean the hallways regularly, so the floors and carpets are ALWAYS covered in debris, mud chips, and dog hair. Look at the glass doors to the exterior, the glass in the vestibule, and the hallway windows. Covered in dirt and fingerprints. Look at the cheap flat paint on the walls in the hallway. Look at the temporary, non-padded carpet on the floor in the hallways with the fraying seams every 6 feet or so.
The units are NOT insulated between floors, nor is there insulation in the walls between units or between the unit and the hallway. This is a BIG problem with disrespectful neighbors. Three weeks ago, units 1C and 1A began slamming their unit doors as hard as they could. This made my unit walls not only shake, but I was being startled and JUMPING constantly. These folks are ignorant. For more than two months, the person above me, NIGHTLY between the hours of 9:45 p.m. and 4:50 a.m., stomped around while pacing, kept rolling something across the floor, and kept dropping heavy items, which made the walls and ceiling vibrate. This would take place every 6-8 minutes between those hours, NIGHTLY, for months. My complaints were only met with gaslighting.
The lack of insulation between the unit walls and the hallway is horrific. I can not only hear people greet relatives, "Hi, Grandma!" Where it sounds like they are inside my unit, but the exterior doors SLAM OVER. AND OVER. AND OVER. AND OVER. AND OVER. Day and night. It sounds like doors are slamming INSIDE my unit. I can hear people sneeze in the hall through the bedroom wall.
My unit was not cleaned before I moved in. The light fixtures were filthy and smeared with something both in the kitchen and bathroom. The tops of the cabinets were NEVER cleaned since the building was built. The laminate floors weren't cleaned and were completely black. The carpet in the bedroom and closet wasn't cleaned. The stove had so much grease and food caked down both sides of it and on the floor to the point where I felt like crying trying to clean it. Furthermore, there was a ton of food and a pile of red, grainy substance shaped like an upside down funnel that looked like some creature created it and burrowed into it under the stove. The top of the stove was filthy and had not been cleaned. The refrigerator was dirty inside and out, including the handles of the fridge and freezer covered in food/white substance.
The appliances are "janky." The refrigerator began freezing my food... ALL of my food... Including juice and lettuce. When the fridge finally stopped freezing refrigerated food, the freezer stopped getting cold enough to freeze food and frozen items began thawing.
Someone bags their dog sh&^ and leaves the bags on the ground in FRONT of the dumpster.

Read moreDo NOT move here if you value quiet. There are a hard core group of noisemakers throughout the building and the management office does NOTHING about it. The management office has been sent audio/video multiple times of people screaming over extremely loud music in their unit and nothing was done.
Unit 1A began moving a bunch of people into the unit and they constantly play their television and music LOUD and SCREAM over the music late into the night, so that they can be heard down the hall, through the walls, and up through the floor. (It is 10:07 p.m. on 2/22/2025, and Unit 1A is blasting their music SO LOUD right now, it can be heard ALL THROUGHOUT my unit. It's been going on for over an hour. Update: It is now 10:47 p.m. on 2/22/2025 and 1A is still at it---AND I just went into the hallway and it REEKS of alcohol and drugs; it is so strong, it made me almost vomit. I've smelled that someone smoked drugs in the hallway/vestibule here before, but how much alcohol are they consuming for that too to be smelled so overwhelmingly in the HALLWAY?!?!?)
Because of how loud 1A is, Units 2A, 2B, and 1B potentially suffer with the noise due to the people in 1A's inconsideration, lack of home training, and ignorance.... There are people living in 1A ranging from their 20's into their 60's or 70's.... It is an eclectic, ragtag, noisy group of bandits and law breakers that management looks the other way for due to solely wanting the $$$.
Also, Unit 2B constantly thuds about all through the night, as well as doing something that vibrates the walls and floor; 2B has been at their shenanigans since day 1 of moving in approximately 3 months ago. They must be related to the owner. (Update: It is 1:57 a.m. on 2/23/2025 and 2B started that loud vibrating against the floor. It sounds like and is fast and hard like a jackhammer.... brrrrrat rat tat tat, brrrrat rat tat tat.... over and over..... but not a jackhammer. It sometimes goes on, off and on, for hours. It's crazy. The management office claims "he is just walking." That is NOT walking. 1:57 A.M. OVER AND OVER.) DO. NOT. MOVE. HERE. YOU. HAVE. BEEN. WARNED.
Also, beware: Your rent will go up almost $400 with the second lease. The recycling dumpster is always overflowing and never seems to get picked up, but you will be charged for water, sewer, gas, electric, and trash pickup.
This place is NOT upscale. The hallways are always filthy, once you move in you will find that the appliances don't work, you will be fortunate if your unit is cleaned before you move in, and you will find that closet doors do not shut over your coats/jackets because the measurements were not taken correctly and some closets weren't built deep enough. Also, to give you an idea of the corners cut in building this place, weirdly, the light switches were not wired in the "off" position when the lights are off. One light switch is always up and one always down with the bedroom closet light and the light near the unit door. Furthermore, the outlets were installed in such a way that if a surge protector is plugged in, you cannot use the other outlet on the plate. Instead of installing the the outlets in opposite directions, they were installed in the same direction. This causes the surge protector cord to block the second outlet on the plate. As such, good luck with the electricity, which is clearly installed "jankily."
I have seen great tenants move out over the past 6 months. Many of the older tenants and professionals are exiting due to noise and what I've been told are "liars in the office."
The attached photos don't do the filth in the hallways and vestibule justice. You can't see the sheer amount of dog hair also ground into the carpet and exterior rug. This doesn't show other hallways and the alternate doors. It's gross. The halls and vestibule have been in this state since at least December... so almost 3 months... not cleaned in that time.
Do NOT move here. You've...
Read moreI've lived in these apartments for just under a year and am happy to be renewing my lease. The property is clean and well-maintained and is TERRIBLY convenient to nearly everything (I rarely have to drive anymore, and with these gas prices - win!). The management company has been fantastic and ALWAYS answers my e-mails within hours of reaching out to them. Rent is understandably a little higher, but everything is brand new and clean, and in a time where rent is high EVERYWHERE, I really can't complain about what I'm paying. Parking is ample, and visitor parking is right across the street (as well as ON the street), so no complaints there. In-unit washer and dryer? Fantastic.
Only real recommendation would be to put out mud mats in the entryways. Though they are cleaned often, it's sometimes disheartening seeing the entryways or the hallway carpets dirtied up by mud, snow, and salt.
Come live...
