This is “my store”. I put up with the higher prices and lacking customer service (except for a few-the tall guy with black/dark hair who is at self checkout a lot is the nicest person and whatever he makes deserves a raise) because this place is close, I love the scan-it scanners and it’s much less people-y than the place down the street. I will not be putting up with the deli anymore, however. The workers are so incredibly rude. They act as if you are burdening them by asking them to slice cold cuts. You know, their job! They also pay ZERO mind to infection control. The one lady who has been there forever wears a safety glove that looks like it hasn’t been washed in 17 years (sometimes she does put a glove over it, that never gets changed and will be full of holes, sometimes not). Others will wear latex-free gloves but rarely change them. On my most recent trip, I watched an ungloved employee cough into her hand and then open the backroom door with said hand. The worker helping me needed to get something from the back and with her gloved hand (that she didn’t change) opened that same door a minute later and continued to handle my sliced meats with those dirty gloves. You also can’t politely ask them to change gloves, either, bc they act like you asked them to give up their first born. I realize gloves are a poor substitute for washed hands, but in lieu of that, these workers should be changing gloves between each customer, at least. And absolutely after touching unclean surfaces. It’s an extra trip I don’t want to have to take, but I’ll be going to the deli in West Boylston for my cold...
Read moreWent there today saw a few sale items that I though was worth the trip. Ha women in seafood department was extremely rude and very unfriendly. Give huge attitude when asked about the sale on lobster and if the could cook for us was trying to save time on dinner for my brothers birthday. Also he mask was not covering her nose or mouth not that I care but if I have to wear one while out shopping she should be wearing hers correctly. Then while checking out was trying to explain we had two separate check outs and the young lady said well we don’t separate for you. That’s was obvious then I was try to explain that one bag of lobsters was for one check and the other one for the other. She got kinda snippy then she telling us the soda had to be done in two separate transactions. I tried explaining to her that the Pepsi products were buy two get one free with no limits then I tried to explain the Dr Pepper was a Coke product for for $10 she said it can’t be done all in one transaction I said the Pepsi doesn’t have a limit but the Coca-Cola does they’re two different products so we had to stand around and wait for a manager with the lien forms because she didn’t want to believe me or listen to what I was saying she pretty much ignored me I don’t know if it’s usually like this or just seem to be everybody was having a rough day but I was very disappointed in the service that we received at Stop & Shop today I probably will not be returning I would rather...
Read moreI would like to give it 0 stars but unfortunately they don't give that option. I went to this store this morning, found all my items except one which I went to the deli counter to ask about and was told to ask the Cook. What a mountain of disappointment was such person. I approached and said "Good morning" and got back "Yeah, it is morning" with such a bitter attitude. I thought your employees were hired to also know how to talk to customers, but apparently that's a skill most of them don't possess. He had overheard me asking someone else in deli before I was told to ask him so by the time I came over to talk to him, he was annoyed I was asking for information on something. He cut me off half way through my questions and at one point I had to explian why I was asking a question about something. And I thought to myself that maybe that was just his way, an unhappy person who only opens boxes and stocks shelves all day, but them noticed when another employee came around he treated him with smiles and happy comments with a different attitude. So that's Stop & Shop torture game. Stop, shop, because we want your money, but God forbid you want to ask our employees a question, we will give you Fresh Crap, coz that's all we got to offer. The only employee who does their job well in this whole...
