This is a neighborhood convenient store. Most of the customers are long time residents of this community. Most of us come here for basic needs. Spend a lot of money weekly. Every time you walk into the store they make you turn in your bag or backpack the second you walk in. Even just asking for my bag leaves a terrible taste in my mouth, as it’s basically implying that because I’m carrying a bag I am automatically going to steal. I don’t like being made to feel like a criminal just because I just got off the train from work and I still have a backpack with me. I also just recently tried to purchase a few hundred dollars worth of gift cards at Christmas time by using my debit card. The manager would not allow me to use my debit card. She said,”Maybe if it was $25, but your amount is too much for a debit card. You have to use cash because of all the scams.” Because of all the scams???? What scams? I have my I.D, and the card clearly had my name on it. It was just another case of being made to feel like a criminal, when I was just trying to shop local. I have said so many times that I would rather hop in my car and drive someplace further away just so that I don’t have to deal with that. Plus they keep hiring these young girls who are so rude. Do not greet. Do not say thank you for your purchase. Do not say,”Have a good night.” Do not understand the meaning of the term,”Customer Service.” It just overall leaves me with a feeling that is so uncomfortable that I just don’t want to shop there anymore. I’m not sure what happened in this store to make that manager so paranoid that she treats customers like criminals, but I’m not there for her trauma. I’m there to shop. But I’ll take it somewhere else...
