Wish I was able to give zero stars. My husband and I were very disappointed! Our food was tasteless and took 45 minutes total for a to go order for 1 burrito and 1 pork taco dinner !! By far the WORST burrito I've ever tasted!! Took 1 bite and threw it away! My husband's pork tacos El pastor came out with lettuce and a sprinkle of 3 to 4 tiny diced tomato pieces! That's not el pastor and while he grudgingly choked down his dinner because he was starving after working a 14 hour shift he got pretty sick several hours later!! We'll NEVER return and highly suggest you skip this place!! Unless you enjoy food that tastes like soggy dog food and being stuck in your restroom for hours ! I'm a professional chef with a degree from Le Cordon Bleu so when I order a carne asada item I expect to get steak not ground beef and I've also visited Mexico five times and never once should I get whole beans on a burrito and I've never seen it at any other authentic Mexican restaurant other than here it's not appetizing or aesthetically pleasing. We live near and wanted to support a local neighborhood business, but unfortunately the only good thing here was the apologetic staff when we finally...
Read moreI swear this place is a small hidden gem in the blue island neighborhood!!!!! They should be featured on TV! When you walk in you feel like you’re in Mexico! There has been an older lady in which I call her Mamma and she smiles with beautiful greetings back. At night her Son is running the show and his customer service is superb too!!!! I come here atleast once or twice a week! I literally find myself craving this place! Tacos are about $4 to $5 a taco but it is worth it! After all you do get what you pay for! I order the steak taco dinner and 3 Quesabirria tacos!!! That consume omggggggg! It has meat in it! So sitting and eating pretty goes out the window!!!!! This is food is well seasoned and super authentic!!!!!! I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place sooner!!!!!! Being a food critic, know that I am very picky, specific and one small thing will make the difference! This place deserves 20 stars! ✨ it’s not your average restaurant.. it’s such a home feel to it! And it’s clean!! I’ll forever support this business! If you go tell them...
Read moreWe live in the area and I thought about supporting this local family business, I brought my wife and child for dinner. My wife ordered 2 gorditas, one of pastor and the other de lengua, cows tounge. She also got 2 tacos, de azada (steak). She immediately noticed and showed me that the taco was not steak. They were ground beef! They need to get their menu straightforward because they clearly have two options, steak and ground beef. Either they got the order wrong or are advertising fasley. The flavor in ground beef and steak are very noticeable. The gorditas were also nothing to rave about- they were missing flavor. I also had tacos and didn’t enjoy being surprised with ground beef. The only thing positive out of this visit was their atole de guayaba and their friendly staff. I don’t recommend this place to eat however. They really need to improve on their food. The menu is big, they make American and Mexican food so I think if they focused and specialized in one area of food it might help attract more customers and serving better...
