This has got the be the worst experience I have ever had with an eBay seller in the nineteen years I've been on eBay. Yes, I opened an account in 1998. I purchased a set of Nitto Invo's in the wrong size, and I contacted them to let them know that I needed an exchange. Almost immediately, they started with this "We'll see if we can waive the 15% restocking fee since you want an exchange." The problem is, their eBay listing says nothing about restocking fees on tires, only wheels and wheel and tire packages. With respect to such, it clearly says that within 30 days there is no restocking fee on items in brand-new condition, never installed or driven on. These tires still had the shipping labels on them.
I was dealing with this woman named Teresa, she was utterly useless. I would leave voicemail or send email, and I wouldn't hear back until a day later, if at all. I started to get very angry with them, left a couple of hot under the collar messages letting them know that I was going to open a dispute with eBay if they didn't resolve this. Teresa suddenly was reaching out to me again, she told me that there was no problem with the exchange, and the replacement tires would be $282 each. I was fine with that, because the price was better than Discount Tire Direct. I got a message in my eBay inbox indicating that return labels had been issued, but when I looked, there was a single return label for four loose tires.
I contacted Teresa again, more non-response, and I left a very angry message telling them that I was going to open a case with eBay and file a complaint with the Illinois State Attorney General's department of consumer complaints. Next thing I know, I get email from a Lucas who starts making all of these promises that everything is going to be perfect and they would solve all of my problems, cure cancer and get everyone to hold hands and sing Kum-Bay-Yah. Only problem was he was as full of B.S. as Teresa. But, I got the invoice for the return labels, and I immediately paid for them through PayPal. The next day, no labels. I email this Lucas character, nothing. Another hostile voicemail, and all of a sudden this Matt F character crawls up out of a roach hole in the floor, and now he's the manager of three stores for the company. I find this to be somewhere between amusing and ridiculous because based upon my experience with him, he's not fit to mange a tricycle rental kiosk in a kiddie park.
This clown tells me he doesn't see the PayPal payment anywhere, I tell him he needs to actually pay attention and look, I remind him of of eBay resolution and the state AG, all of a sudden by some blessed miracle, the payment is found. The tires get tagged, I'm starting to think that maybe this might work out well, I exchange a few emails with this Matt character, and in the process I remind him that I own thirteen vehicles, and that I'm looking for a new source of tires for my vehicles. He makes more promises, apologizes profusely, and passes me back to Teresa who now is quoting the exchange tires at $325.95 each.
I was done at that point. I sent Matt an email telling him to step off, and I ordered the tires from Discount Tire Direct for $294 each. This chucklehead Matt reaches out to me again begging for my business, but I told him that the tires were ordered, and that we were done. I said I wanted my money back and that was the end of things. Next thing I know, I get back my purchase price minus the 15% restocking fee that they had no right to charge. This ended up in an eBay battle which they lost. Beware, they are scammers, lousy liars, and please, don't delude yourself about any form of...
Read moreI recently purchased a Escalade ESV with aftermarket Fuel 22 inch wheels installed on it. The spare that came with the vehicle had a rusted out 17" wheel that was unuseable. I did not want to spend a minimum of $465.00 for a new matching Fuel 22" rim to just store it under the vehicle as a spare. I looked for many months and no single used rims were available anywhere. Then SD Wheel listed a slightly blemished fuel wheel that was a 22 inch wheel that was the correct bolt pattern to fit my vehicle. The blemish was a surface scrape on the wheel. This was fine for my use as a spare. I decided to take a chance and purchase the wheel not knowing if the wheel might have additional flaws affecting the wheel such as being bent or possibly not being able to balance the wheel. The price of $70.00 including shipping for a scraped wheel that normally sells for a minimum of $465.00 seemed too good to be true. The wheel arrived and appeared to only have the surface scrape as described. I had a tire mounted on the wheel and had it balanced. Then put it on my truck as a front wheel and took it for a test drive. It performed perfectly at all speeds tested. I was contacted by a representative from SD Wheel thanking me for my purchase immediately after I bought the wheel and then contacted again after the wheel was delivered to make sure that their were no problems with the shipment or the wheel. This company showed me that they care about the customer and their business transactions. And they were completely open and honest about the true condition of the wheel. Plus on top of that I saved a minimum of $395.00 while accomplishing my goal of obtaining a spare tire and wheel the same size as the 22 inch aftermarket wheels on my vehicle. I am very happy with every aspect of this transaction and wholeheartedly recommend SD Wheel to anyone considering making a purchase from...
Read moreI had multiple issues with my purchasing experience. I ordered the wheels and tires that I wanted. I then received notification that my order was processing and then I caught they made a mistake on my bolt pattern. I contacted them and they fixed the issue (so they said). I then got another notification that my order had shipped and in the picture I (not the company) noticed they shipped me the wrong wheels with my tires. I contacted them again and they informed me I needed to to accept the order and they would set up a return plan even though I came up with the idea to have the shipping company to just turn the wheels and tires back around and ship them back to them. They did not want to do that because they would be charged $300.00 dollars to do so. I took off of work to accept the wrong wheels and correct tires. I then contaced them back asking for compensation for my hassle and their faults. I asked for $400.00 dollars compensation ($12.50 per tire to dismount each tire which is $50.00 dollars total, $30.00 dollars per tire to mount and ballance which is $120.00 dollars total which is $170.00 dollars total in labor alone. This is not factoring in having to take off work again and my time. They agreed to pay me a total of $296.00 dollars total which is only $126.00 compensation for my time and loss of wages. Mind you, I will have to take off of work again to return the incorrect wheels back to them. This has been the worst experience ever to buy wheels and tires at no fault of my own. If I could give them a 0 star...
