Bonnie the manager is rude!!! Beware of frozen food check expiration dates on everything watch produce always pull from behind for a better pick!!!!!
I love supporting small hometown business (especially my own hometown) but once again i understand why people rather shop a larger chain store. I went in here today to see if you had udis glueten free bread to my surprise you did it is marked up here by about two more dollars for small loaf but understandly you think can get away with that so you go for it! Problem is... the freezer seems to not be working properly. Nothing was froze completely. Everything in that cooler was almost if not all thawed out enough to get someone sick i feel. I am sure not up to health and safety standards!! I nicely told the friendly lady behind deli (she is always nice and friendly) that someone should look into it. She went to a lady behind lotto counter. She was not happy that someone complained and seemed like it was a bother to her! She Questioned the deli lady that how would the complainer know something was wrong. She didnt realize i was standing off to the side to hear her. I was so upset and then she hurriedly got busy and walked away so I asked my cashier kid (he was a nice young gentlemen) who was she and he said Bonnie the manager. I will still have to go here sometimes they are only option but just a warning for all!!! Also always check the dates on EVERYTHING (That is my usual habit its sad but i have had to throw stuff away and still find out dated stuff in their store) and grab your produce from the back they rotate and dont throw out til near moldy!! Also last weekend we got a bucket of chicken and it was slightly burned and thoroughly disappointed with the chicken! This is the second time so i dont think we will purchase the fried chicken anymore! Now im am going to nic pick at this place everything i see wrong! So Vinckiers you can thank Bonnie for that! You get two stars because i still like your sandwhich spread and is the only thing that reminds me of being a kid shopping uptown at the...
Read moreI've been going to this Vinckier's location for several years now. And although the prices are definitely higher than your Meijer or Walmart stores, it's also more convenient than having to drive twenty minutes one way to get to a Walmart or Meijer if you only need a few items. However, recently I have noticed that their prices have gone through the roof. At first I thought maybe inflation was hitting eggs, butter, and even pasta again, but after stopping by the Vinckier's in Wadhams and both Walmart and Meijer I realized it is only this location that is charging these outrageous prices. I'm not sure what is going on with them, but to try and take advantage of their customers knowing how hard it is these days to make ends meet is simply unacceptable to me. It's one thing if they are following a price hike that all stores are experiencing, but this is not the case. For this reason I will do my best to shop elsewhere until they can get their prices under...
Read moreThe store's always clean, the produce decent... Everything you need in a small(er) town grocery store. Of course, being a small(er) town grocery store, the prices are going to be a little higher. You pay for convenience. Comparing the mark-up for convenience here vs. the gas money spent to go to Port Huron to get cheaper groceries, if I need a couple things to hold me over before going on a full-fledged shopping run, it's usually cheaper to go here.
That being said, being a small(er) town grocery store with prices that are right on the edge of making economic sense, they tend to have more foods get to their expiration date. If you shop for those and you have kids in the house that'll eat them very quickly, it ends up working out because they mark them down pretty well.
So all in all, it's a good store, but it is not my primary shopping store.
Now if they would only get their Google pay...
