The place has changed dramatically. The fresh fruits are no longer fresh. I seen a worker drop fruit on the floor and left them their until he finished what he was doing. He did not bother to wash them off. He looked at me and smile. I put every piece of fruit I had back. This is an unexceptable practice. People can get sick. The manager does not care because he was made aware of this situation and so was his other staff. If they drop a piece of fruit; what makes you think the meats are not being dropped, or the temperature of the fridges are not set properly! My husband experienced that with the ice-cream. He informed the manager; you figured they would have thrown all ice- cream that my husband reported extremely soft; including the one my husband had. The freezer was just increased in Celsius degree. Instead of caring about safety you refreeze the ice cream instead of throwing it out! Therefore leaving the bacteria in the ice-cream to fermate and make people sick. I rarely purchase food here anymore! I go shopping where I am valued as a returning customer.
Update; nothing has changed here. The freezers are over freezing. This is an indication they are having problems with their freezers. They are not for the people. I found a few outdated cans on the shelves. Check the dates on your food. Foods with expired dates can cause you to become ill. Make sure you look at your meats closely to make sure they are not sprayed with a different color. That signifies the meat is no good. Read moreLeft the south Yarmouth store ( on Station Ave.) in tears bc I had to bite my tongue after being treated so poorly by their employee. Kept my mouth shut for fear of making u tube and being turned into the Karen in the situation. I simply asked for help with a product that was apparently mismarked. She literally stomped her foot and told me it wasn't her job! All she really had to do was point me to the person that could help, instead she huffed at me and became the martyr that had too much to do. I told her she could just take it off for me but she continued to try to make me believe she was doing me a favor by checking the price. when she came back she informed me that the sign should have been taken down. I told her again she could just void it but she proceeded to want me to believe she was doing me a favor and fixed it to the advertised price. I don't believe any employee anywhere has ever made me feel so badly or so unimportant to their business. The sad part is she is usually the person working in customer service. Since then I have only been in Stop & shop maybe 3 times. What a shame. Food shopping is difficult enough these days without being treated like you are nobody.going to actually make a call to corporate. Went to different store treated much the same. The man didn't want to cut the piece of fish insisting he wasn't allowed to. I don't want or need 3 lbs. Of bluefish. Read moreI have been shopping at various Stop n Shops on the Cape for over 30 years now. My last experience was horrible. I was doing my usual fighting with the self check out scanner, having an attendant come help at least 5 times that day. Once I was finished, frustrated, and hurrying home so to make it to work on time. A gentleman approaches my car, demands my receipt, then says I didn't pay for 2 cases of soda on bottom of cart. I was of course horrified, apologized, and grabbed the sodas and was about to run back inside to pay, instead this unprofessional security guy, says I can't, pay for it, he had to take it, demanded copy of my ID, says I can't come back for 24 hours and then makes some sparky comment to not "forget" again. A parking lot full of people looking at me like I'm some harden criminal. Im not the first person to forget the sodas, on the bottom of the grocery cart! Management there is rude and just one of the worst STOP n Shops around, some Customer Service training might be beneficial for that Staff and now for the first time, I now shop at Shaws or Market Basket and they both know how to treat customers.
