My son’s Nintendo Switch stopped holding a charge and wouldn’t connect to the TV when sitting in the dock. We figured it was the charging port. Another repair shop was going to charge $200 for the repair. After reading Google reviews on Beaman’s, I decided to give it a try. I had a very positive experience! The owner works out of his home in York, so you’ll be dropping it off to him there just so you know. He was professional and met me outside where I signed a quick order form indicating he had my switch in his possession. The switch ended up needing a lot more work than anticipated. It was supposed to be done within a day, but ended up taking 2 or 3 days. The owner was communicative throughout the process and again, very professional. After he completed the repair, he sent me pictures and a video of the device powering back on. I picked up the switch and my son has been successfully playing on it for the last few months! Even despite the additional unexpected work he had to do to the device, he insisted on sticking to the original price quote he provided to me in the beginning, which was half the cost of the other repair shop. I honestly don’t think another place would have continued with the repair when they realized how much more involved it was going to be beyond just replacing the charging port. I’m so happy with his knowledge, skills, and work ethic. This will be my go-to place for any...
Read moreDropped off my ps5 off a week ago for an issue with it powering on. Got a text update the day I dropped it off but didn’t hear anything back throughout the week. Got one response to a text but he didn’t have an update. Ignored the next 3 texts. Then I called him and he still had no new updates from the day I dropped it off. So I just asked to pick it up which he was okay with and didn’t charge me. However he didn’t put the system back together fully.
Took it to Ubreakifix and the guy was shocked this was how it was returned to me. They were confident they could fix it and gave me a clear time frame and set proper expectations for how the process would go.
This guy’s running a small business from his house and I truly do wish the best for him. He was kind and reasonable, and I respect him for not charging me which is why I’m not completely tanking this review. I’d say his communication needs to get much better. Setting proper expectations goes a long way. And if he can’t fix something or has too much work to do with everything else he has going on, he’s gotta set those expectations with his customers. Especially given that this is being run out of his home, you worry about potentially being scammed. So my biggest advice would be to improve his communication and expectation setting. It would...
Read moreThis has been an interesting experience to say the least. We called 8-19-25 about my nintendo switch and explained the issue. He was extremely professional and knew exactly what he was talking about (extremely knowledgeable). He gave us a reasonable quote that was better than the only other place that actually answered the phone. He also said he could have it done same day. The switch was dropped off Wednesday 8-20-25 and we did not get it back until today (Friday evening 8-22). The communication was almost non existent on his part and we had reached out multiple times to check in while my switch was in his care (he promised a same day fix on tues). I felt like we were being scammed by friday when we heard almost nothing. He was unable to fix my switch and had even consulted with someone else to try to figure it out. I believe he replaced a chip as well. It's understandable if he was unable to fix it but unfortunately, he lacks basic customer service skills and that hurt any future business from us. We will stick to the other place (a little more expensive and is a corporation). We appreciate small business owners and he is very nice but I would not recommend to anyone...
