El Casero Restaurant — Restaurant in York

Our stomachs started to growled ... we were looking for a Latin Flavor place to eat. First place showing up was El Casero rest., so we stopped by. The restaurant’s outside facade looked humble,simple and clean. Its inside, including the restrooms were spotless! My husband said “ so clean, that one can sleep on its floor” wow 🤩 that’s a lot to say... Now let’s talk about the food... it was protected by a big glass and I didn’t see flies around. There were not food stains on the spaces between the trays with the food. Everything looked beautiful, good and 😋. We wanted to eat the whole menu! My husband selected “ bacalo’con huevo and guineítos and it was funny because I could see him salivating ready to devour it😂 In my case, I chose “ mangú and filete de pescado “ .

I observed the super diligent ladies serving our food ...HUGE portions, and really really affordable prices. OH MY GOD, our food was exquisite, delicious, full of flavor... Great addition to our town. I will start by saying that the earlier you get there the better because the food can go fast! Good thing is if you have time they will prepare certain things that may have run out. Lets start with the rice choices yellow or white, I've tried both and i prefer the white especially if pairing with the steak (steak os my favorite choice of protein as far as meat goes sometimes it will have stewed carrots and potatoes which I prefer over just the steak. Baked chicken is delicious, I don't eat pork but i do know its a popular choice here. Empanadas are best served fresh. I love the assortment of drinks! The atmosphere is very NYC style and i love that. I highly recommend. They are on doordash but i do recommend eating in at last once its always better...

I've taken family size meals to a Puerto Rican Family that raved over the taste, quality and quantity of food and taken black and white lady friends with me to share the house sandwich (made with FIVE meats) and they asked how did I ever find such a GREAT place with different and delicious foods. The owner and staff are such good people, a lot of others can learn from them, how to be successful in business and interaction with people of various ethnic groups by treating everyone as one race (human race) and as if every customer is family. IF everyone treated others as you are treated here, there would be no war, no fights, no conflict and no hunger.
