The Smash Box — Restaurant in York

When I used to live in Florida, there was a little dive bar across from city hall that we would frequently visit filled with lawyers and head honcho’s all piling in for a flat top burger — it’s the places you least expect. I saw this place on DoorDash and went for it, only to be slapped with nostalgia and reminded of the amazing burger I once had years ago. The smash burger is like no other. And I will absolutely give it best burger in York. The Smash Box is beyond fast food, it’s beyond whatever 5 guys is, and it beats all of their prices, too! I saw someone say RUN don’t walk to get one of these, she wasn’t lying. Thank you for doing something different in York and offering flavor that is hard to find, you’ve got a forever customer right here ❤️

The Man cooking and serving was very rude and disrespectful. The Lady was nice and told me kindly to park. I had parked in front to see the menu while no one was there and the Man came out very disrespectful for "move out the way!" I told him, "I am calm but you better calm down and watch the way that you talk to me!" I parked my car to the side of the food truck and waited for my lunch to be prepared but in the back of my head I was worried about the man serving my food. RUN don’t walk… we decided we wanted burgers tonight (neither of us felt like cooking) and chose The Smash Box for something different. I didn’t expect much (York doesn’t have a ton of note worthy food options), but we were WOWED! The burgers are so fricken good. Simple, well-seasoned, & not greasy with fresh toppings and soft buns. My husband, who’s notoriously hard to please, said, “damn… that’s a good a** burger!”

We also tried a hotdog & the fries. Both delicious, but I’ll ask for the bun un-toasted next time. Just a personal preference. We will definitely be back, I want to try that hot...
