My wife was at your gym and had decided to enjoy some time in the pool after the 6pm water aerobics class had concluded. She was approached by the male water aerobics instructor, who persistently engaged her despite her clear indication that she was not interested in joining his class. He went as far as making sarcastic remarks, undermining her feelings, and attempting to mimic her, which was both unprofessional and demeaning.
My wife had waited until his class ended before entering the pool, the instructor continued to linger around and harassed her. When she requested that he leave her alone, he responded with hostility, threatening to have her membership revoked and even banning her from the facility. He raised his voice, making a scene and causing significant distress to my wife.
I took the initiative to contact the director of the facility on my wife's behalf to report the incident. During our meeting with the director, she seemed very concerned. The director acknowledged that there were complaints at this facility to that she was just being made aware of by her staff.
After an investigation, the director informed my wife that the instructor had admitted to his inappropriate behavior. However, she decided that the only resolution would be to release my wife from her contractual agreement so she could join another facility, and she suggested an apology from the instructor. This outcome is completely unacceptable.
In the end the director said that because he teaches a lot of classes there and that his water aerobics class is very popular this is all that could be done. The facility is more concerned with the popularity of their employees than their behavior.
Everyone needs their job and no way do I wish him fired but with no discipline for his actions it will happen again and basically he has the authority to do whatever he wants.
As a husband my wife is an extension of me and I was and still am very upset but I guess I am glad she is...
Read moreOne of the best choices I have made was joining this Spectrum . Plenty of machines to work out on. The staff is always very polite and professional. I joined the gym back in March and started working with Ben, who is one the trainers there in April. I was diagnosed as a diabetic in February weighing 260 pds. Since Joining Spectrum I am now weighing 212 pds and have been taking off my medicine by my doctor. I highly recommend Spectrum if your in the market for looking for a good place to workout. From the classes included with the membership, the child care, and the awesome staff, you can’t go wrong with joining this gym. As a added plus the membership pricing is...
Read moreIt has everything I need out of a gym. If you're somebody who only uses the fancy machines that work out small obscure muscle groups, this place likely won't be the best fit for you, but if you do almost anything else than Spectrum is the place for you. Open 24/7 to members, unlike the YMCA, which makes the membership worth every penny in my opinion. It's never too crowded to get to the machine you want quickly unless you come in peak hours, and even then it's not bad because the majority of the cars in the lot are probably there for a class and won't...
