This visit was better than the last. I hadn't planned on coming back based on my last visit, but we were on the way for a family cookout. We decided to stop by and pickup some fresh corn on the cob. The produce manager offered to sell it by the bushel when he saw me getting so much. Now if the other gentleman could've been so helpful when I was trying to buy the boneless pork loin on my last trip I would've given a good review then. I'm not sure if he was the meat manager or general/assistant manager. He was a black gentleman that got called up front when I was checking out. I grabbed the "whole pork loin" as advertised which was the same meat but they didn't have to cut it into thirds which is not a whole boneless pork loin, put it on meat packing tray and wrap it this way but he said to get the advertised price I had to buy the ones they had put extra money and man hours into but it cost less. Moral to the story is give people and businesses a second chance. Don't base everything on one visit or person. Watch for...
Read moreMy friend an older very respected well dressed, also very respectful, former BOE retired lady had to order a new debit card and has family in the area so she has shopped at Freshway several times. Because she did not have her debit card she had to write a check and they would not take it. She felt highly embarrassed and both ladies were having to dig out cash to pay for her groceries. It was not a large amount, less than $40.00, but she was made to feel really bad because her address was Crawford County. Most places have the online check abilities to prevent fraud, but I guess they did not. I understand the fear of checks these days but the person giving so much information is usually the one taking a chance. She deserves an apology or I doubt she and friends and family will be back. Thomaston has plenty of places to shop. My wife has family in the area and spent summers with grandparents in Zebulon and expected better treatment for this...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised with the Freshway market. It reminded me of a mom and Pop owned type of grocery store with everybody paying a lot of attention to detail. It was very clean super organized. You can tell that whoever was in charge of produce did a fantastic job of making sure it was freshand good. The proteins looked stellar, and the prices were super friendly. Sometimes there are smells that are detectable in dairy sections and meets coolers, but this had none of that A+ plus I went here on a recommendation from a friend and I will definitely...
