Harbor Freight — Local services in Zephyrhills

Not real pleased with Harborfreight lately. Used to be you could expect a good buy for your money and accept the shortcomings of some of their tools because if a good buy. This is no longer the case, since I have a store 1 mile away now, I frequent the store more often. New brands are throughout the store and the new pricing places them entirely to close to brands you know and have been using for years. Let's face it, Chinas junk is not getting it done. It's too expensive and is riddled with problems. My main pet peeve with this store will never change. I've been a shop owner for 50 years, my experience is a mechanic, body shop owner, custom car building and restoration. Welding ,fabrication, sectioning, chops, channeling, interior, all phases of body work, frame straightening as well.

Their metric sets are all the same, sockets, hand wrenches, allen wrench whatever. Important sizes are 10, 13, 14, 15 and 18. No sets they have carry all these sizes, almost always more than 1 is missing. Just the other day, I bought tubing wrenches from them working on a miserable hydra boost, to find out the size I needed was not included. Still have my snap on set 40 years ago, but I needed metric. Took it back, there went and hour, and up to Lowes to by a Craftsmen set like 2 dollars more with all the sizes. If your a mechanic you know how valuable and hour can be. Stop wasting your time, drive by Harbor Freight and go to Lowes or the depot. Terrible customer service.

Bought an expensive paint sprayer that did not work. After assembling it and putting together, I realized how cheap it was (Avanti) It did not work so I took it back.

Store manager would NOT allow a refund without a 20% restocking fee and only offered an exchange for same sprayer.

I was there to look at and buy a different sprayer but he would NOT allow this type of exchange.

I called Customer Service and they said that type of exchange is allowed and you just pay the difference.

I went elsewhere and will NEVER shop Harbor Freight again.

I called at about 8am 5/5/20 and placed a pickup order. I talked to either Sean or David and they made it clear the item was in stock and they would have it ready for pickup at anytime. At time of arrival, that afternoon, the items were no where to be found. The cashier at the time told us “The items were all here when I came into work this morning” and the closing manager said “Looks like they were never in stock to begin with”. Sounds to me that the items were sold or whoever I initially spoke to never checked inventory to make sure the items were in stock. Either way it is not adding up and this whole situation was poorly managed. We drove to Zephyrhills to be told our order was not there and we could check Lakeland or Springhill which is yet further away. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. FIRST...
