As a rehabber-turned-home-builder, Home Depot is always close to my heart. Obviously, I generally get better deals from builders' supply warehouses, but every job needs those odds and ends. Home Depot and Lowe's are always there to save me in a pinch. That being said, I much prefer this particular Home Depot in Zephyrhills. Everyone is so nice and they bend over backwards to help. Other places have employees who typically give you a nod as they pass and pray that you don't ask them for help. The employees here actively engage and ask if you need help. Then, they go out of their way to make sure you get what you need before making sure you know exactly how to use/install the item. Some of these people are great teachers even for someone who's been in the business.
I believe his name was Ed (but I could be wrong). He was a former trucker who was now working in the electrical department. I needed a new multi-meter and he sold me this exorbitantly priced machine that could launch a nuke. He told me how to use it and explained how he used to use something similar when he was a trucker delivering strawberries and he had to test the cooling system on his rig. Then he gave me a few more real-world examples on the settings and I was ready to use this new machine without a lot of fumbling.
And then there's Lara. This woman is awesome! She knows everything! She does everything! This lady needs to be the next CEO. She's definitely a no-nonsense lady because she's absolutely a professional! She's the one you want to talk to when you want something done NOW.
Next is Miss Brenda, another professional! No nonsense, get it done, and works her tail off! She's not much for chatting, but this is a lady who really knows her business.
I think Miss Carol, the lady with the New England accent, has moved on, but she was always a super friendly person. She was the best possible person to be working the self checkout because she always had a kind word and a cheery smile! I looked forward to seeing her every time I'd go, but she hasn't been around for a couple months. I hope she's doing well and if she reads this, thank you for pointing me to that awesome lobster joint in Dade City! You're right, the "lawbstah" is fantastic!
This is the place to go if you need help! The people are great even though the prices on their warped and twisted lumber are...

Samsung Bespoke Refrigerator bought June 2nd
I would love this refrigerator- except- the delivery company hired by Home Depot- refused to install per HD criteria- & wouldn’t install unless turnoff valve directly behind refrigerator- Per HD installation instructions: “Required for installation: A standard 110-volt, 3-prong electrical outlet within reach of your new refrigerator's power cord For ice and water dispensing models, a working water supply line with a shut-off valve must be located within 6 feet of the refrigerator, on the same floor…” (A second time wasting $100.00 worth of food- company left shelves in drawers- didn’t setup temperatures - had to call Samsung after a few hours trying to get satisfaction from Home Depot Appliance staff. It was a nightmare- Still is actually.. cannot use ice or water unless we pay another plumber to come install it? ( We got dishwasher plumber - who would not install dishwasher, to finish hookup of refrigerator - on June 14th)
/// Samsung dishwasher-Bespoke:
I purchased this on June 2nd. On the 5th it was to be delivered, & installed & old dishwasher hauled away. - we were told by delivery people, that we had to remove dishwasher- that they would NOT! So delivery & installation setup for the 11th. These deliverers did bring items in , but told us we needed a plumber to install dishwasher.. So on the 14th plumber was scheduled- Again, he could not install it- the plug was in his way- so we would have to get an electrician, & then plumber could come back. He gave me card, to call #- but that company said we had to call Home Depot.com. They couldn’t do it. 0 results calling Home Depot, so went in store, to appliance department. They say Samsung refuses to make return on dishwasher- but maybe “.com” can over-ride the decision. They would be in touch with me. A week later & dishwasher still not installed, unable to get a different unit that will work in our space & get this useless piece of machinery out of...
Read moreCalled ahead to confirm a home depot rental flatbed truck would be there for me. Was no truck to move materials. Coordinated workers on jobsite and installation with project owner. Drove an half hour out of my way. Im near 1000 miles away from company office. At a clients location. A dozen people are either losing money and time due to this home depots lying about having a truck for me, to get me to this store. I assume to buy my materials here. I guess if i should have just went to lowes. People consider this. This is a very poorly operated, coordinated and run home depot. Definitely go elsewhere unless absolutely necessary. Omg. I wrote this before i checked out. As i was loading my vehicle with the materials i was told i would have a home depot flat bed truck to move, i was approached by a long haired, tattooed male. He was wearing hd uniform. Rather than offer to help, he demanded i move my vehicle and even raised his voice. There was literally not one other person in or attemting to enter the loading zone. This is one of the rudest places on earth. Avoid at all costs. It seemed i was lied to about the truck. In order for me to go the extra distance, to spend my money on materials there. Ive never thought i was scammed by home depot before. I shop there around the country almost daily. I will definitely go to another hd store or even lowes before i ever consider returning her and wouldnt reccomend it to anyone. At the end of the day. The lie about the truck has cost me not only aggravation. It has cost in the area of $1000 additionally on this 1 day project. For it is now a 2 day project. Extra labor, extra day, extra shopping, stress dealing with untrained hd employees. Goes on and on. Will say, lumber, hardware employees and Gary the cashier were great. Even their good personalities would not outweigh the negativity rampant in this location. Overall, the experience was extremely negative. No pics. But, your not missing anything....
